Montreal is a beautiful city! - A 6 1/2 hour walk around Montreal — we saw everything. Pierre was a terrific guide - interesting, knowledgeable. He took us everywhere we wanted to see plus places only a local would know. My only advice is to access the tour directly through City Unscripted. Viator is HORRIBLE and will be happy to rob you and ruin your vacation. Go direct to City Unscripted

Customized tour that fit my interests perfectly! - Gabriel was a wonderful tour guide full of knowledge about Montreal's architecture and history (as well as some great places to grab a bite to eat!). He really listened to my interests and put together an itinerary that suited me well! We explored rare Isaac Newton books and science history at McGill University, stopped at a cafe afterward for coffee and snack, walked through beautiful neighborhoods, and wandered to Place des Arts and Old Port for sightseeing, where he recommended some great food. Gabriel is the best, and so was this tour!

A fantastic tour with Lesley! - Lesley is the best; knowledgeable, funny, super friendly, and extremely helpful. We had a great time on her tour and learned so many things that only a local would know. She also had so many great recommendations for after the tour. Her tour is a must!

May was great at reaching... - May was great at reaching out and coordinating details prior to the tour. However, after the tour we felt we did not learn much about what Montreal has to offer. The tour guide spoke quietly and with a heavy accent and only the person right next to her was able to hear. The tour was not engaging to the children (ages 10-13) and they seemed bored most of the time. It should be mentioned ahead of time that the hike to Mont Royal requires appropriate attire and a bottle of water in the summer months. It took us some time to reach the viewing platform without any places to purchase water or fountains. Part of our group wasn’t able to join the hike due to an injury, and an alternate suggestion from the guide turned out to be closed. We felt that hop on hop off bus would have been a better and cheaper choice. We ended up cutting the tour short because it was hard to hear and understand the guide, and the children were not engaged. With all that said, May was extremely nice and accommodating to our requests. She also recommended a light show at the Notre Dame which was a fascinating experience.

Not worth what I paid for - The tour guide was lovely and dedicated. She is a professional tour guide who had lived in Montreal for 8 years and specialises in tours and she speaks a major Asian language fluently. I feel that the tour lacked certain insight that someone who lived a significant part of their lives in Montreal would have been able to provide. I in no way fault the tour guide who did the job to her best ability - I 100% fault the company as this tour was quite expensive. Pros - you will cover an immense amount of ground across Montreal in 8 hours and see a lot if you have the stamina. Cons - Tours are about the context, stories and history of a place as much as covering ground - I did not get that in depth insight that I hoped for. It was good but for the price paid I wouldn’t do it again, perhaps the audio on the hop on hop off bus would offer more insight. 8/10 to the tour guide for doing her job 3/10 to this company for advertising and organising this tour in this way.
