Highlights
  • Le Plateau Mont-Royal - Plateau Mont-Royal district - We’ll concentrate our walk around the St-Laurent Blvd. axis and side streets. Meet your guide near Saint-Louis Square. See our Victorian-era architecture, our typical outdoor spiral staircases and learn about the history of the area. We’ll explore some green alleys and admire some murals along the route. Learn about the waves of immigrants that shaped the area including the Jewish and Portuguese communities. Soak up the local vibes with plenty of happening cafes, boutiques and restaurants to spot on our walk. Walk past famous Schwartz’s Deli. Summer brings pedestrian-only streets that are bustling day and night and that highlight the joie de vivre of Montrealers. - Mile-End - We explore one of Montreal’s hippest and trendiest neighborhoods (recently named one of the coolest ‘hoods in the world by TimeOut magazine!) We’ll weave and zigzag through the streets of the neighborhood and enjoy the quaint residential architecture. Your local guide will explain the past and present of Mile End and will delve into fascinating stories about its working-class roots, its multiculturalism, its artistic flair and its current popularity as a tech hotspot. A little bit bohemian, a little bit industrial, a lot quirky & charming. Of course we’ll see local institutions and landmarks like St-Viateur & Fairmount Bagel Shops, Cafe Olimpico, Wilensky’s, St. Michael’s & St. Anthony’s Church, and many more. The tour will finish in the vicinity of Waverly/St-Viateur. Leave the tour armed with the MTL Detours List of Recommendations for things to eat/drink/see in the area and in Montreal.

Must do walking tour - What a fantastic tour by Thom. Comprehensive historic overview and using that while pointing out things during the tour. Enthusiastic guide that shows really interesting things without overloading it and adapted to the groups interest. And the snacks were yummy as well. Thumbs up and a must do.

A Five Star Experience - Company service was excellent. Our guide, Thomas, led us on a memorable tour of these colorful neighborhoods of the city. We're in our 70's. The pace was comfortable. A five star experience.

Slice of everyday life in Montreal - Best tour guide ever!! Marie-Helene was charming, knowledgeable, and generous. The tour was invigorating (it’s a lot of walking, about 4 miles), but we had great weather and it was so interesting. Shows you everyday life in a lovely section of Montreal. Totally recommend!!

The Real Montreal! - What an amazing way to experience the “real” Montreal! A very nice stroll through two of Montreal’s historical neighbourhoods. Lesley our guide was so friendly and so knowledgeable about the city, the culture, the history, etc… Super happy to explain all sorts of things and answer all of our questions. Loved exploring the back alleys. We also loved the local treats, yum! Would definitely recommend :-)

Perfectly curated walking tour to experience the past and present of Montreal - It is filled with history and trivia and not to mention MUST TRY Montreal snacks. We hit a lot of MUST SEE/DO items in Montreal. The tour guide, Lesley laid a great foundation of the city. Everything was well organized and we did not wait in any lines. I recommend this tour to people who are visiting for the first time or have already been there before. This was my second time in the city and I thought I had seen it all until this tour where I realized how rich and diverse this city is and quickly becoming one of my favorites in North America. Our tour had 5 people and felt very relaxed. Lesley took time to answer questions and she does a great job making everyone feel comfortable. Our tour consisted of two couples and a single so if you are visiting the city solo don't be shy to sign up for this.
