Phowintaung is located across Monywa on the opposite side of the Chindwin River. Despite having much to explore, it remains relatively undiscovered by international tourists. The sandstone caves of Phowintaung are adorned with hundreds of thousands of Buddha statues, offering a diverse array to discover during a visit.
