The Northern Rivers Rail Trail is a specially designed bike path that follows an old railway line through some of the most diverse and stunning countryside in the area.
During your journey, you will pass through two historic railway tunnels (one is 524m long and home to glowworms and microbats), cross over historic railway bridges, explore charming hinterland villages, and have the chance to visit art galleries, delightful cafes, and antique shops.
Take a break for lunch and meet the alpacas at Hosanna Farmstay or enjoy the views at Apex Dining (located at the Margaret Olley Art Gallery).
The trail surface is excellent, featuring a mix of tarmac and compacted gravel, with gentle hills and easy riding (especially on an E-Bike) and no cars, making it perfect for the whole family. We offer baby seats, toddler trailers, tag-a-longs, family cargo bikes, and even dog trailers.

Our fleet features premium German-made FOCUS and KALKHOFF e-bikes, equipped with the latest BOSCH motors and large batteries, specifically designed for the Rail Trail. These bikes come with gel seats and, most importantly, puncture-proof tires.
We provide all the necessary gear, including a high-quality E-Bike (with lights for the tunnel), a GIRO helmet, a lock, and a backpack or pannier. You’re free to explore, knowing that our fully equipped support van and trailer are just a phone call away if you need assistance.
This self-guided experience allows you to travel at your own pace, stopping wherever you like, as long as you return by 4 pm! Enjoy 2 hours of E-Biking and 2-3 hours of dining, drinking, and exploring—it’s pure bliss.
