While sightings are unpredictable, it is common in Moorea to observe whales with their calves, mating displays, breaches, pectoral fin slaps, and tail flukes. These boat-based observations require no special physical abilities. If the animals’ behavior and sea conditions permit, we offer snorkeling for individuals over 13 who are comfortable with fins, mask, and snorkel, supervised by our aquatic guide, to swim alongside these ocean giants. Additionally, you may encounter dolphins, pilot whales, turtles, rays, and sharks.
