Great adventure at Moose Pass - We had a wonderful and exciting couple of days kayaking and staying the yurts. It is such a great adventure, starting with the kayak and trek into camp, and then having the chance to explore the upper turquoise lake. JD, Jen and Ruby were super helpful with everything, and provided great food too!

Adventures in Moose Pass! - What a great adventure we all had! From loading up in Moose Pass to kayaking up Trail Lake and hiking to the camp (along parts of the Iditarod Trail) and yurts on Grant Lake, we all had the most amazing time. Our group of 11 enjoyed the great hospitality of JD, Jen and Ruby, delicious food and s'mores by the campfire and some awesome kayaking and swimming in the lake. We ventured to waterfalls coming off a glacier to a post dinner kayak ride to an old prospecting site where we bushwhacked our way in and out. Our boys especially loved the sense of "independence" they were granted as well as the many chances to swim in the lake. While we were "off the grid", we had full confidence in JD, Jen and Ruby the entire time. Thank you! We can't wait to head back!

11 out of 10, highly recommend! - I can't recommend this trip enough! Usually getting into the backcountry of Alaska requires a lot of money and/or a lot of effort, this short trip requires neither and provides huge pay off in views and experiences. The kayak and hike from Moose Pass to Grant Lake is just long enough that you feel like you put in some work but easy enough that you aren't tired or sweaty upon arrival. The yurts are super cozy and comfortable and the views are just spectacular. Our guide was knowledgeable and informative. We were blessed with incredible weather but I know that we would have enjoyed ourselves just as much bundled up in rain gear around the fire, sipping hot cocoa.

Wow. Incredible Journey! - What an incredible journey!! After kayaking and hiking in, our group of 8 people setup up in two yurts for two nights. The amenities were just enough for a camping trip, making it the perfect “glamping” experience. The yurts were super comfortable! We had a delicious dinner along with a nice campfire and drank filtered water right from the lake. So cool! Kayaking Grant Lake was so fun too. We saw waterfalls, stuck our faces in glacial water, found caves and saw old abandoned mining houses. We picked wild strawberries, blueberries, crowberries and watermelon berries the whole way … it was amazing. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone that wants to fully experience this area. Grant Lake simply cannot be fully enjoyed without at least two nights to do it. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. Thank you, Jen, JD & Ruby!! We can’t wait to come back.

Great kayaking, amazing views & wonderful hosts - Had an amazing couple of days with JD, Jen & Ruby. They were very welcoming and looked after us extremely well, while also becoming part of the group. The area was gorgeous and kayaking on the lake was fantastic, helped by the great weather we had. The yurt was comfortable (The Ed) and had a great lake view, and the food was amazing (and plentiful). Wish I could go back and do it all again!

Super Yurt Adventure in Moose Pass - Jen and JD’s place up on Grant Lake was amazing. The scenery was phenomenal and the lake was a blast to kayak in (and so, so cold). The paddle and hike up from Moose Pass was strenuous, but well worth the effort (our ten year old was able to do it without complaining). Our hosts were very considerate and helpful and we enjoyed our time with them. The yurts are so charming and so much better than a sleeping-on-the-ground camping experience. We could have done with fewer mosquitoes, but that was to be expected for June in Alaska. This was a great place to take a break and recharge our mental batteries in the quiet of the Alaskan wilderness. We had a totally awesome time and we really want to come back!

A Full Alaska Experience - What an excellent experience of kayaking, hiking, cold water, yurts, wilderness, food and people! JD/Jen and Ruby were the best hosts and I cannot recommend enough. The evening paddle was my favorite along with the tasty breakfasts. Look forward to coming here again!
