Once in a lifetime experience! - I truly wish I could rate this more then 5 stars.. We booked the cooking course very spontaneously on Monday evening and received confirmation the next morning, along with a list of Moroccan dishes from which we could choose what we wanted to cook. We were picked up by a very kind cab driver in a parking lot near our riad, and from there we went straight to the family who would cook with us. As it was quite late in the afternoon, they had already picked up most of the ingredients fresh from the market earlier that morning. However, to familiarize us with the shopping process, they drove us to their usual shopping facilities. We bought fruit for a dessert, as well as zucchinis and chicken for the tajine from the market. We learned that ingredients always have to be bought fresh shortly before cooking to ensure they are the best quality, as the cooks usually select the ingredients themselves at the market. With the ingredients packed, we headed back to the car and then to the family’s home. At first, our host Saad's mother told us to take a break, and we were given typical Moroccan tea and pastries to try. Our host Saad even went out again to organize fresh snacks for us, as we mentioned that we hadn’t tried them yet. Under the guidance of Saad's mother, we chopped carrots, potatoes, zucchinis, onions, etc., which we then used to prepare traditional couscous, tajine, and zaalouk. We took turns seasoning the dishes, and Saad's mother helped us in a warm but firm manner. They showed us the individual steps involved in preparing traditional Moroccan dishes in a friendly, informal atmosphere and shared a lot about their culture, and we even learned some Arabic vocabulary. Everyone was very kind the whole time, and Saad took lots of photos and videos of us as souvenirs, which were sent the next day via a cloud service. On request, they showed us local shopping opportunities for spices, herbs, and fruit, which extended our outing. When Saad's father came home from work, we all ate the cooked dishes together, and they humorously taught us how couscous is traditionally eaten by hand. We were brought home safely at the end of the day and can look back on a truly successful evening. If you're interested in learning more about Moroccan cuisine and culture in a friendly, fun, and heartwarming way, we highly recommend booking this cooking course!

Absolutely amazing - Saad and his family gave us an amazing experience, which far succeeded our expectations. We went to the market, cooked amazing food in an authentic way, learned each others languages (although I must say the amount of languages Saad and his lovely family speaks is astonishing) and had an amazing time together. It feels like we made new friends! It is an intense experience and one we will never forget. Please do yourself a favor and enjoy this awesome time together!

An Amazing and Authentic Experience! - This authentic cooking class with Saad, his mother Saida, and his sister Sara was a standout part of our trip to Morocco. They welcomed us warmly, making us feel like family from the start. The market tour was fascinating, and cooking together was even better! The dishes were delicious, made with homemade spices from Saida that brought out flavors far richer than anything store-bought. This wasn’t just a class, it felt like a day with friends in a Moroccan home. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a true taste of Morocco!

Authentic Morocco cooking experience - We had a wonderful day with Saad and family seeing the real Morocco with a visit to the market and cooking tagine in the family kitchen with his mum and sister. We also experienced Morocco ‘guest culture’ with generous hospitality and gifts. Heartily recommend.

Unmissable! The Ultimate Moroccan Cooking and Culture Experience - After spending more than 5 hours with a local Moroccan family, this cooking class was much more than just a lesson – it was the best experience I had during my two weeks in Morocco. Authentic and original, it made me feel like a local, especially when walking through the market, selecting super fresh vegetables while learning how to choose the best produce. Even the vendors were incredibly friendly. When we arrived at Saad’s home, his mother welcomed us with tea, homemade Moroccan biscuits, and, most importantly, a warm smile that made us feel like family right away. This is not a tourist activity; it’s an adventure worth far more than the listed price. We prepared several dishes together while sharing stories. Saad, who has traveled to over 60 countries, had so many fascinating stories to tell. His mother and sister, with their kindness, shared all the secrets of Moroccan cuisine with ease. And the best part – the food tasted amazing, especially knowing we prepared it together as a team! Before we left, Saad gave us meaningful gifts, which were a lovely surprise, and his mother did too. You’ll discover these surprises yourself, and I’m sure you’ll love them. What’s clear is that Saad and his family are more focused on showcasing the beauty of Moroccan culture than making money from this activity. With transport included, all the dishes we prepared, and the thoughtful gifts, this experience is worth far more than the price. We were dropped off at our hotel after having one of the best adventures of my life. Thank you, Saad, and thank you to your wonderful mother and sister
