Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Boumalne Dades Valley

Boumalne Dades - Start your desert journey as our guide takes you on a picturesque drive. Travel through the Atlas Mountains to visit the renowned kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, famous for its roles in films like Gladiator and Obelix. Take a guided tour and enjoy a meal at the kasbah.

After lunch, proceed to Ouarzazate, a location known for classic films such as The Mummy and Lawrence of Arabia. Pause for a coffee break before continuing to Dades Valley, where you’ll unwind, relish a delightful meal, and stay overnight in a private guesthouse.

Boumalne Dades Valley – Tinghir – Todra Gorge – Merzouga

Merzouga - Following breakfast, head to Todra Gorge, a stunning natural wonder favored by rock climbers.

Arrive in Merzouga, the desert’s heart. Take a one-hour camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes to our camp, where you’ll witness a breathtaking sunset, enjoy a satisfying meal, and sleep under the stars.

Merzouga to Fes via Erfoud, Midelt, & the Atlas Mountains

Fes - Your first stop is Erfoud, a lively market town known for its annual Date Festival, fossil mining, and artisan workshops. On the way, admire views of the hillside mines before visiting a local artisan collective to learn about the region’s fossils. Observe the entire process of transforming fossil-rich rock into beautiful items. Continue over the Tizin’Talrhemt Pass into the Ziz Valley, noted for its hidden oases and clusters of palm trees. Along the route, you’ll see many fortified houses called ksars. Merchants built these homes to safeguard valuable goods like gold, salt, and spices. Stop for lunch in Midelt, dubbed the “Apple City” due to the nearby Moulouya River and its surrounding fruit orchards.
Next, ascend to an elevation of 7,146 feet (2,178 m) over the Col du Zad Pass. Enjoy the views as you wind through the cedar forests of the Atlas Mountains. Keep an eye out for the local Barbary macaque monkeys.
