Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Galaa M’gouna - Gorge Dadés
The journey begins at 7:00 AM with a pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech, heading towards Gorge-Dadés through the High Atlas Mountains (Tizi-n-Tichka). Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of Berber villages, perfect for capturing stunning photographs. The first major stop is at the ‘Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah,’ a 16th-century fortress recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. This location has been the backdrop for many famous films, including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Kingdom of Heaven. The journey continues to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where a delightful lunch awaits at a local restaurant. The route then takes you through the Roses Valley and the Road of the Kasbahs, passing through Berber villages, arriving at Dadés Gorges around 5:00 PM for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorge Daddes - Merzouga
After breakfast, the journey proceeds to Tinghir city, located in the Souss-Massa-Draa region, within the Todgha Valley. This enchanting place, nestled between mountains with a year-round flowing river, offers a welcoming and serene climate in a Sahara setting, making it a memorable part of your desert tour. The route passes through Erfoud, renowned for its fossilized marble, and then Rissani, where the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes come into view. These dunes, some towering over 50 meters, extend as far as the eye can see between the famous ZIZ Valley and the Algerian border. Explore the area by camel or quad, and arrive at your furnished camp, featuring traditional khimas tents with flush toilets and water. Experience a true nomadic adventure with a bivouac in the desert. After dinner, enjoy a mesmerizing starry sky accompanied by drum entertainment. Overnight stay in the tents.
Day 3: Merzouga - Agdez - Marrakech
An early morning wake-up call allows you to witness the magical first light of the sunrise. Following a traditional breakfast in the bivouac, ride camels back to Merzouga to meet your driver. The return journey to Marrakech includes a stop in the Berber city of Agdez. Enjoy free time in Ouarzazate for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing through the Atlas Mountains back to Marrakech. This marks the end of our service.
