Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Gorges
High Atlas Mountains - Our 4-day tour kicks off in Marrakech, where we’ll pick you up from your accommodation or the airport. We’ll head to the Dades Valley, a journey of about 6 hours, with numerous stops along the way to take in the sights. You’ll traverse the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tichka road, with several stops to admire the mountain landscapes.
Ait Ben Haddou - Next, we’ll visit the renowned fortified village of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a backdrop for many international films and series like Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia. After lunch en route, we’ll pass through Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa, home to the continent’s largest film studio.
Dades Gorges - We’ll also pass through the Roses Valley and the town of roses. In the Dades Valley, we’ll stop to explore the unique rock formation known as Monkey Fingers. You’ll spend the night and have dinner at your Riad in the Dades Gorges.
Todgha Valley - Todgha Gorges - Erfoud - Sahara Desert
Todgha Gorge - Day 2 of our 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fes via the Sahara Desert begins with a delicious Moroccan breakfast at your riad. We’ll then head towards the Sahara Desert of Erg Chebbi, a 5-hour drive with several stops. Our first stop is Todgha Valley, with its ancient Kasbahs. A short drive along the valley brings us to the Todgha Gorges, a breathtaking canyon with refreshing weather and a river. You’ll have the opportunity to walk beneath the towering cliffs of Todgha.
Erg Chebbi - Leaving the gorges, we’ll head towards the Sahara Desert, passing through the Khataras of Jorf and Erfoud. Upon reaching the desert, you’ll prepare for a camel ride across the golden dunes, stopping to enjoy a stunning desert sunset from the high dunes. You’ll continue by camel to your desert camp, where you’ll spend the night with the locals. After a traditional dinner, enjoy a Berber party with fire and drum music under the stars.
Erg Chebbi - The Nomads - Khamlia - Merzouga
Erg Chebbi - On the 3rd day of our 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fes, you’ll explore the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Don’t miss the sunrise in the desert. After breakfast at the camp, you’ll embark on a 4x4 tour to uncover the desert’s hidden gems. First, visit the Nomads living in traditional tents, share a cup of tea, and learn about their daily life. Next, head to the French village of Miffis and a mining area where black hematite stone is extracted for crafts and jewelry.
Khamlia Gnawa Music - Later, visit Khamlia village, inhabited by people originally from Mali and Sudan who have integrated with the local desert community. You’ll listen to their unique Gnaoua music. Lunch will likely be in this village at a local restaurant, where you can try a dish called Berber pizza.
Merzouga - Afterward, you’ll drive to your Riad/hotel for the night. The afternoon is free for optional activities like ATV quads, buggy rides, or horse riding.
Ziz Valley - Cedar Forest of Monkeys - Ifrane - Fes
Errachidia - After breakfast, we’ll head to Fes, an 8-hour drive. Our first stop is the Ziz Valley, a 175-mile-long valley of palm trees.
Cedar Forest - We’ll pass through the Zaabel tunnel, known for its apple orchards, and reach the Cedar Forest, home to Barbarian monkeys. Enjoy a stop here to play with and feed the monkeys.
Ifrane - A short drive later, we’ll stop in Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco for its architecture, climate, and green spaces. Finally, we’ll drive to Fes, Morocco’s oldest and second-largest city, where we’ll drop you off at your accommodation, concluding our 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fes via the Sahara Desert.
