- Middle Atlas - Your day begins when your driver from Fes Desert Trips picks you up from your hotel or riad in Fes at 10 am. (times can be adjusted to suit if needed, just ask us, we are always willing to help and are very flexible.)\n\nThis day trip incorporates visits to villages in the Middle Atlas Mountains (elevation up to 1360 metres above sea level) where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramas and breathe deeply of the clear, fresh, cool mountain air. \n\nFirstly, you will be driven to the village of Immouzer, famous for its apples, fragrant and beautiful with apple blossom in the spring and in July hosts the famous National Apple Festival.\n\n Next you can see the delightful Ifrane, a charming Alpine-styled, chalet filled town, nestling prettily in the mountains and known as “The Switzerland of Morocco”. It is a relief to visit these cool mountain towns if you visit in the summer, a pleasant escape from the oppressive heat and if you visit in the winter, Ifrane and the nearby ski-resort of Michliffen offer many snow sport activities.\n\n Catching tantalizing glimpses of both the Middle and High Atlas Mountains as you ascend into them through huge forests of cedar and cork, your next stop will be to explore Azrou, ‘The Rock’ in the local Berber language, an ancient settlement still lived in by the Amazigh (Berbers), Morocco’s original inhabitants before the arrival of the Arabs. It is a lovely village with flower bed and cherry tree lined streets and green tiled roofs in the heart of the magnificent cedar forest, the largest in Morocco. You will be able to see the tribal herdsmen and hard at work milling flour or engaged in traditional carpentry and carpet making. Enjoy haggling for a rug if you wish, especially if you arrive for the Tuesday market, as the prices here can be much lower than in Fes and the people are very friendly. \n\nThe day finishes with a pleasant return drive to Fes where Fes Desert Trips will drop you off at your hotel or riad.

Enjoyabe Mid Atlas tour while in Fes. Tour guide gave wife and I a deep dive into the history of Fes. Great service!! - It was an extraordinary experience. Entity went the extra mile to ensure appropriate services were provided. Entity persistently reached out to travel agency to fulfill contractual obligation.
Entity provided great services by ensuring wife and I enjoyed our visit in Fes.

Very enjoyable trip to the middle Atlas Mountains - My husband, two daughters and I went on a wonderful day trip with the fantastic guide Madih. The drive only took about 1 hour after which we arrived at a lake where there were some Berber boys and men who offered us short rides with their horses for very little money. After that we drove to the forest where we were able to feed and have fun with the monkeys. On the way there we stopped for a small meal in one of the Berber towns and then went for an easy 3 hour hike through beautiful forest and open landscape. On our return we stopped in a forest day camp set up by Berber families who live in the area. There we had a delicious tagine cooked on the fire in the forest in a magical setting. There were more opportunities to go for rides through the forest. We can highly recommend the young guide Madih who is a very good driver (we felt completely safe in the car) and who catered to all our needs in a flexible, warm hearted and very friendly way in addition to engaging with us in interesting conversations. We can highly recommend the day trip with Madih.
