With your driver, you’ll depart from Marrakech at 9am and journey towards the High Atlas Mountains via the Ouarzazate road. You’ll pass through Ait Ourir before veering off the main path to explore the Zat valley. This hidden Berber gem, nestled in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, remains largely undiscovered by tourists.

The Zat valley features terraces of local crops such as poplar and fig trees, along with authentic villages built into the mountainside. You can hike on foot or by mule from the village of Tighdouine, known for its natural sparkling water, to visit the village of Talatast. For the more adventurous, and depending on your guide’s program, you can continue to the more remote village of Aït Ali, tucked away behind the mountain.

You’ll enjoy lunch with a local family. On the way back, there’s an option to visit a women’s cooperative where 24 local women craft beautiful embroidery and glassware (Monday - Friday afternoons). You’ll return to Marrakech around 5pm.
