Additional Information

The Uluguru Mountains forms part of the Eastern Arc Mountains (EAM), stretching from the Taita Hills in southern Kenya to the Udzungwa Mountains in the heart of Tanzania. Occupying the core of the Eastern Arc Mountains, the Uluguru range covers an expanse of 241 square kilometers ( 24,115.09 Ha), enclosed within a boundary of 197km. Its establishment in 2008 was aimed at preserving the distinct ecosystem and safeguarding its unique biodiversity for future generations. It was designated as a Nature Reserve on 7/11/2008.

Mikumi’s landscape is often likened to that park, which is divided into two distinct sections. The northwest region is marked by the Mkata river basin’s alluvial plain. The flora of this part is characterized by a Savanna sprinkled with acacia, baobab, tamarinds, and some unusual palm.

An amazing experience! - We've had three amazing days with Evance in Uluguru mountains and mikumi national park, every day he was perfectly on time. It was a delight to have him as our Tour guide. He was proffesional in every sense of the word, punctual, polite and pleasant. He told us so much about the environment and wildlife, we really learned a lot. We enjoyed our safaris and hiking so much and would definitely recommend Kurumbizi tours and safaris to our friends!
