Good way to experience local nature - We have been on 2 tours with Safaris Partners. First was 2-day hiking. The hike was wanderful, view totally stunning, activity was quite demanding, but we managed to reach the peak 😉 Tony (our guide) is amazing - we love him! He tells a lot of stories, answers all our questions, makes a lot of jokes, explain many things about plants and animals, he is very helpful and cares about people. One of the best guide that we ever met! In Morning side "the Lady and Mister of the house" cooked delicious food - even plain rice was cooked with ginger and some spices and was amazing. Tents and mattresses for sleeping over were comfy and clean.

Beautiful camping trip in the Uluguru mountains - I spontaneously showed up at the office at 11 am in the morning asking if it was possible to arrange a camping trip to the mountains on that same day. And of course Ndakie made it possible. The 2-3 hours hike up to the old German ruins morningside was beautiful and upon arrival our tents were already set up. The view from the plateau down the valley is absolutely stunning, especially at night when you can see the city lights glittering in the far distance. Due to its remoteness morningside is a truly magical place where you can enjoy the silence without any other people around. The amazing meals served to me were provided by a local family. The guide Jimmy was very keen to explain everything to me that we saw alongside the path and above that very good company. He thought me a local board game that we played at night sitting by a bonfire. Ndakie also offered me to stay at his house after the trip, him and his family are such kind people that also organise many activities for the local people barely making any, if at all, profit from it. Thanks for everything!

Strawberry Fields in the Uluguru Mountains - Our two-day hike in the Uluguru Mountains through Safari Partners was one of the highlights of our short stay in Tanzania. The trek started in Morogoro and meandered up into the hills on a scorched orange track, passing through villages every half hour or so. The mountains are farmed to about 500 metres shy of the summit (surprisingly, strawberries - introduced by Germans in the early 20th century - are the main crop). The final stretch to the summit cuts through a dense and misty forest before finally breaking into a clearing on top with grand views of the Uluguru range - cloud cover permitting. Elton, our guide, was superb company and thoroughly professional. He provided us with great insight into life in Morogoro and the Uluguru region, answering all of our questions in detail and waiting patiently during our photo stops (which were often). Hiking with Elton was like hiking with an old buddy. During the walk, we met farmers, fruit-sellers, school children, a brick mason, shopkeepers and a chaplain who gave us a short tour of his chapel. Elton knew everybody! We ate and camped at Morningside, an old German hostel, now in disrepair but still maintained to a basic level by villagers as an overnight base for hikers. Our tent was pitched on the grass in front of the hostel and overlooked a vista of trees and cultivated land that tumbled into Morogoro several hundred metres below. After sunset when the city lights came on, a campfire now blazing, the views were almost surreal. We descended at a leisurely pace, stopping for beers outside a village store, and further beers at an alfresco bar perched above a store, near the foot of the mountain. Top marks for Edward at Safari Partners who promptly replied to emails, advised us where to stay in Morogoro and kindly allowed us to leave our luggage at the office during the hike.
