Additional Information

I will escort you on a stunning pathway in Morwenstow, traversing through some of the most isolated, wild, and breathtaking landscapes of the Southwest, rich in intriguing history. Our journey, composed of various elements, includes a stretch along some of Cornwall’s highest and most rugged cliffs, follows a secluded hidden valley and meanders through tranquil meadows and ancient churchyards. We will stop to admire the astounding views, pause at notable local spots, and discover the turbulent and wild past of a region predominantly known for shipwrecks, smuggling, and unconventional poets. Our passage will encompass Morwenstow church and its phenomenal cliff top location, and include a pause at Hawker’s hut, a small cliff face dwelling constructed from shipwrecked wood in 1843. Depending on our pace, the journey may last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours, although the route can be easily adjusted to suit your requirements. Please note, there are a few steep portions along the path.

The Bush Inn
The Bush Inn is located 7 miles north of the coastal town Bude, in the hamlet of Morwenstow. If you follow a sat nav or google maps the postcode EX23 9SR will take you there. It's easy to find. Turn off the A39 Atlantic Highway 3 miles North of Kilkhampton (more or less halfway between Hartland and Bude) and follow the signs directing West towards Morwenstow and the Bush Inn. When you get to the village of Shop follow the road to the Church & Coastal Footpath. A few minutes down the road from Shop you will see the Bush Inn on your left. Park in the pub carpark or on any of the large grass area in front. We will meet outside the pub, under the Bush Inn sign that you can see from the road.

It's a beautiful day ! magnificent guided tour - Very nice and relaxed trailwalk through the hills of Bude and Morwenstow with excellent guiding from David. After having some trouble to find his contact details we got hold of him via the lovely ladies of the Tourist Information Centre in Bude. Who helped us out contacting him. Beautiful views over the sea and hills. David takes his time to show you everything and also tells you the story that goes with it.

What an amazing day! - What a great experience! David is a wonderful host. This was possibly the most breathtaking walk my husband and I have ever been on (we are not great walkers but he’s very patient!) finished by a cream tea and a celebratory pint at the Bush Inn. We will definitely be back!

Most fabulous and wonderful experience for a newbie to walking - I ended up having a one-to-one guide to walk with David Myers.Absolutely Fabulous so friendly so informative and didn't care how many questions I asked. He asked me what I wanted from the walk before we started and then tailored the wall for me, stopping when it I needed to and basically I can't fault it and would definitely will be booking again. Will be recommending highly to my friends and family Well done David Myers

Great walking with an excellent guide in stunning Scenery! - We were given Dave’s details by the lovely people at the Bude Visitor Centre. We were looking for a guided walk off the beaten track and to learn a bit about the local area. Dave more than delivered. On two days we went for beautiful walks, tailored to suit us. The Cornwall and Devon coastline is stunning and walking with Dave allowed us to see it in a way we would never have found for ourselves. Dave is a very interesting character and very knowledgeable about the local area. The perfect guide if you want to see something a bit different. We will hopefully be back in the area and wont hesitate to walk with Dave again.
