One of the most memorable experiences - 10/10 . Probaly the best customer care I received out of all my travels and that includes 5-star hotels etc. From start to finish everything was exceptional. It was my birthday during the trek and the team even surprised me with the birthday cake on the mountain. Couldn’t be more thankful. Paulius G.

A dream come true - Amazing team from Altezza! - A local agency that knows the field well with experience guides. A transparent agency that is eco-responsible and takes the well-being of its employees seriously. An organized agency that prioritizes the safety and comfort of its customers and this is true beyond my expectations. I was a VIP. For example, on arrival (Marangu Gate), I had a medal/diploma ceremony accompanied by a flute of champagne and where my wife was there to welcome me: top! A superb team of 8 people including the Francophone Guide KELVIN and the English Guide RICHARD always present, attentive, anxious to do well, benevolent, with little care, friendly, considerate, ... (2 dads for me although I'm 62 years old!) and professionals up to the top (in the driveway as well as back). Memorable and unforgettable moments and memories thanks to them. Another big thank you to Kelvin for our many exchanges on different topics during this climb. I recommend them +++

6 days walk between Marangu Gate and Uhuru Peak on a family round trip. Extraordinary experience! - Impeccable organization and perfect team. We just had to worry about walking. Everyone was caring for us and several delicate attentions particularly touched us.

Great if you want to reach the top! - Me and my girlfriend had a great experience with Altezza. Our guides did everything in their powers, as long as it was safe, to get us to the top. The entire team was great. The chef, Victor, made great tasting food, which was very important when our appetite started decrease at altitude and we were still able to eat quite a lot. Emanuel, our waiter (yes, we had a waiter) was somehow always ready for us with hot tea and snacks in camp despite having started later than us. The porter team was very friendly and worked very hard in order for us to make it to the top, and to the camps along the way. The guide team with Peter as head guide and Khatib as secondary guide were a big part of the reason we managed to reach the top. Guide trainee Hilton was also a big part of us managing to reach the top. Guide trainee Novatus had to help a sick member of our team down, otherwise he would most likely have helped us up as well. Our guides, especially Peter, but also trainees Novatus, Hilton and Faraji, had good knowledge about mountain medicine and knew what to do and how to treat people correctly when we had a teamate who got sick. They had a well stocked medicine box with everything that could be reasonably expected to be used, and they were liberal in using medicine when it was requiered. It felt as if Altezza took care of our porters and guides. They seemed happy, and joked around a lot. It also seemed that some of the porters got the opportunity to train to become guides, which seemed to be a good career. It didn't feel as if we were using anybody in order to get to the top, it felt more like we were paying someone to help us with a service. Peter told us similair things, that us clients were important in order for our team to have good jobs as porters and guides. All in all, it felt like Altezza took care of their employees. Of course I don't know everyones experience, and it may not have been as great as I felt it was. We had a lot of questions going into this adventure, some good and some not that smart. Our contact with Altezza, Denis, answered them all quickly and well. Some stuff to consider: - The guides helpes a lot. They tell you what to wear, when to drink, how fast you should walk. They carry your backpack when you're too tired to carry it yourself. This is fantastic for most people. They are very good at all these things, and it ensures that as many people as possible reach the top. If you are in a team with very experienced climbers, all this may be a little unnecesairy and feel a bit too much sometimes. Our group needed the help, and I think most groups do. It is a hard climb. Our group had some experience with altitude (over 4000 meters/ 14 000 feet), as well as with hiking and being fit in general, and we still struggled. So don't overestimate your capabilities either. In the case that a group would be exceptionally strong, the guides will probably notice and adapt accordingly, as well. - The food served is often eggs, rice and vegetables in a sauce. It tastes great, but if these are things you don't like communicate well in advance. Also many bananas. - The hotel that is included is nice, the staff is friendly and the food is good. It is however very expensive to buy snacks there and to wash laundry (8 dollars for a can of pringles, and 2 dollars per pair of underwear). There is no real easy way to leave either and buy stuff outside the hotel.

Aaamazing! - I am so happy we choose to climb with Altezza. They really made everything to get us to the Uhuru peak, right from the start. They had thought through food, drinks and other important preparations to make us strong enough. Felt secure throughout this experience. We did the Marangu route on 6 days and if you wanna make sure to get to the top the Lemousho route might be a better choice. We got to the top and for that i wanna give a special thanks to our amazing guides Peter, Khatib and Hilton who did everything from givning me tea and sugar to motivation and joy all the way to the top! Very grateful! If i would give some negative feedback it would be the prices at the included hotel where we were staying before and after. You didnt have any other choice for food, snacks and drinks (in the area) and it was quite overpriced (pringles 8 usd). The laundry service was also way to expensive for my liking.

Amazing company, 16 year old traveler’s experience. - I’m a 16 year old and oh my goodness altezza was such an amazing company to travel with. I was with my family and the whole time the guides Rashid and Charles (ask for them, they are the nicest people and so funny!!) cared so much. They brought cough medicine for me when they heard me coughing, and they brought out wet wipes for my brother when he had a nose bleed. Rashid, one of our guides, his motto was: “Treat us not like your friends but your family.” He ended up being the one treating us like family, and he was amazing with my 11 year old brother, playful, caring, etc. Charles, our other guide was super informative and was able to point out animals along the way that took us ages to find. He was also incredibly caring, he was the one who carried the wipes for my brother. The porters were amazing as well, Abdullah, Jackson, Bacari, Faraji to name a few. They brought us hot water bottles during the extremely cold nights, and they helped to support us on the way down from Uhuru peak. Our waiter Faraji would take into account what we liked and didn’t like to eat, and he’d report it to our cook Bacari and they’d find some way to get it to us. Keep in mind this was on a mountain 20-30 kilometers from any place where they could get these ingredients. They either carried it up or found a way! Our porters would even dust our shoes if the hike that day had a lot of dust. One of our porters, Abdullah broke his headlight and he not only didn’t complain he fixed it with a single rubber band. When we gave him our extra one he was extremely grateful and hugged me. He also matched my extremely fast little brothers pace down from Gilman’s Point, hopping along the way. At the Kibo huts, there will be no water, but again our porters found a way to bring in two big buckets of warm water each day for us to wash up and etc. Without these amazing Altezza guides, porters, and Altezza themself, my family and I would not have been able to summit. It really was mind over matter, but they made sure that we were always thinking positive and that they were proud of us. If this extremely long and detailed review doesn’t convince you to book with Altezza, I don’t know what will! Good luck on your hike!!

We summited because of Altezza and our GUIDES Rashid and Charles - Altezza , the guides and staff are what helped our family with kids age 16 and 11 to summit 1. They are quick in response our questions 2. We actually did 7 days of Marangu because we want the confort of hut to have better sleep but because Marangu has poor climatisation profile , we asked if possible to add one extra day as an option for us to increase chance of summit . It usually is ok during low season but July is busy yet Altezza made it happen for us 3. The staff are very professional and detailed oriented. Before departure, they did a thorough check of our gears and made sure we had everything. They also itemized our valuables and counted our cash , sealed them tightly. This is very helpful . On summit night , we dont have the energy to carry our backpacks but we didnt have to worry about our stuff 4. The GUIDES! Rashid and Charles and team are the reasons why we made it . I dont know how many times we expressed our gratitude to them for our success Rashid and Charles each had over 200 climbs and 20 years of Mount Kili experience, so very experienced ! They knew what we needed and sometimes before we even asked ! They kept open communication with us . Abdula was very nice to our kids , two Jacksons helped us tremendously during summit push . Faraji took good care of us Chef Bacari fed us well . We hope everyone can request Rashid and Charles We highly recommend Altezza to everyone

Professional and details oriented - Professional. Detail oriented. Thought of pretty much everything, from oxygen, cough medication, diamax, hot water teddy bear for the cold nights up in the mountain. The encouragement from our Charles and Rashid helped us to climb the almost impossible Gilman peak with our 16 years old daughter and 11 years old son. Comparing to the food from other agency we had much better food, tea break, and coffee in the mornings. Last mile hike and summit porters helped us with our backpacks were helpful tremendously. Highly recommend altezza.
