Amazing local Company - Whether your summit experience is enjoyable or miserable has a lot to do with the hiking guide and the camping staff. My Kilimanjaro support team from Habari Adventure was the most incredible. My hiking guide Michael figured out my pace and ability on the first day and from then on set a very comfortable pace. Every evening he briefed me about the hike next day and what to expect. On the summit day, Michael and one porter Humphrey helped me to reach the summit. I was standing at the famous Uhuru Peak sign having my pictures taken at exactly the moment the sun came up. The camping support team prepared delicious meal 3 times a day. My bag was always in the tent when I got to the camp site for the night. Kasper was my camp assistant and he made sure I was comfortable and got everything I needed at camp. I then took a two day Safari after the Kilimanjaro hike. My guide and driver was Octavio. He was very knowledge about the animals and he always seem to know where to look. Habari is a 100% locally owned company. I noticed what I paid was less than some of the foreign companies changed for the same service. I would not hesitate to recommend Habari.

Incredible Experience - Absolutely amazing! Would definitely choose Habari again. The summit of Kilimanjaro is definitely a group effort and without the wonderful porters it would not be possible. Huge shout out to our porters. You were fantastic. MK, Prayer, Johnson and Awali on Kili were fantastic. We then went on a 5 day safari with Hillary and Jimmy and had the most incredible time. Thank you to everyone who made this trip so amazing!

Asante sana Habari Team - Our trip to climb Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho 8 day route with Habari a was absolutely incredible. From planning the trip, right up until we left the Brubru lodge, the process was seamless. Our guides, Ima and Abdi, along with the rest of the porter team were friendly, knowledgeable, and definitely made the difference for us to succeed in reaching Uhuru peak. Food was delicious, and fresh, as there were multiple resupplies during the 9 days. Every evening, we were briefed on what to expect the next day, and we had a health check to make sure we were staying healthy. The summit night was tough, and cold particularly due to higher than expected winds, but our guides were patient, motivating, and helpful - Asante sana Habari Team!

Habari Team Never Lose! - I can't say enough about how excellent Habari Adventures was for our trip to Tanzania! We did the 8 day Lemosho route of Kilimanjaro and then did a 3 day safari with them as well. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and we would not have been able to do Kilimanjaro without them. Come in as clients and leave as family. Our guides for Kilimanjaro were Abdi, Michael and Owali, and they were amazing. They were knowledgeable, patient, experienced and helpful. They taught us Swahili phrases, about the mountain, and about their culture and other cultures in Tanzania. They encouraged us and helped us every step of the way. Our porter group was amazing - I can't believe how these guys set up, take down, come back to help us make it to camp everyday, and help us to the top, always with a friendly word of encouragement and a smile on their faces. Our waiter, Gaspa, was the best, and also helped us on summit day. Shout out to Sampson, who literally helped me back down the mountain and caught me a couple times to keep me from falling, Simon and Willy, who always came back to help us the rest of the way to camp, Tarek, who kept the cleanest private toilets and had them set up and ready to go when we made it to camp, and Remi, who made our delicious food. All of the porters worked so hard and made the trip so enjoyable. It was more than was expected and made us all comfortable and able to make it to the summit. We had a marvelous group of six people that summitted and had 22 support personnel to get us there. It was also my husband's birthday the last day of our trek and everyone wished him a happy birthday and sang to him and we even had a cake! My brother in law's birthday was the next day (on safari) and the folks at the lodge danced and sang to him as well. Our safari was also amazing - guided by Safari Steve. He knew the parks like the back of his hand and we had so many animal encounters that were close up and absolutely stunning! Steve was fun and knowledgeable and an excellent dancer!! We saw big cats up close, elephants, giraffes, zebra, rhinos, wildebeests, hippos...oh my! The tented lodges (Embalakai Serengeti and Embalakai Ngorongoro) were top notch. Service all around was the best we've had. It was a once in a lifetime experience and we're so happy we picked Habari Adventures to make it happen. I highly recommend!

Fantastic local operator… 100% recommend. - Fantastic experience from start to finish. We wanted to use a local company who looked after their staff. I looked at dozens of companies before settling on Habari. They were very good value and I could not fault them. The communication before the trip was excellent and very accomodating and the set up was very professional. The mountain staff were all amazing from the guides to the chef to the porters. The food was very good given the facilities available and our chef MK was very accommodating to requests. Our guides were all very knowledgable and very encouraging throughout. The porters are superhuman, I managed to have a good chat with a few of them and without exception they were all very happy to be employed by Habari and were treated very well. A special mention to our lead guide Leon, who looked after me when I experienced bad altitude sickness in the descent from the summit. It was very much appreciated my friend.

Unforgettable experience with Habari Adventure! - We had a great experience with Habari Adventures. We did the 8-day Lemosho route and a one day safari with them. Communication was easy and prompt and our trip was completely stress free due to their professionalism. Our guides, Modi and Mfaume came to meet us at our accomodation the day before the climb, they explained everything we needed to know as well as checked our equipment. We were able to rent everything we didn’t have with us. Our whole mountain team were amazing from day one and we soon became one ‘big mountain family’. We couldn’t have succeeded without their help and support, and for that we are truly grateful. Our safety and comfort was everyone’s priority; we had health checks 2x daily and a briefing at the end of the day to help us prepare for the next day. Modi and Mfaume were both very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about Kilimanjaro’s flora and fauna. Our whole group summitted succesfully and safely, and it’s down to our team and guides’ support, knowledge and experience. We cannot recommend Habari Adventures highly enough. We went with them because of the thousands of positive feedback we’d read online. They treat and pay their employees fairly as well as provide excellent service. Thank you again for a truly unforgettable honeymoon. Asante Sana!

Pure Perfection - I remember well that Habari Adventure received me the moment I landed at KIA Airport; I was not worried at all. This may seem normal to you, but it showed me right from the start that you take your duties seriously.

Xmas 2024 Summit with Habari - Don’t hesitate to choose Habari Adventures, a local Tanzanian company that expertly guided my husband and me to summit Mount Kilimanjaro on Christmas morning 2024. We undertook the 8-Day Lemosho Trail, and Habari delivered an exceptional experience, exceeding our expectations in every way. A standout aspect of our journey was my husband’s unique challenge—he’s 59 years old and had sustained a knee injury three years ago, leaving him without an ACL in his right knee. From the start, the company owner, Stan, reassured us that this wouldn’t be a problem, and his team’s extensive experience would accommodate our needs. After meeting with our lead guides, Michael and Samson, during our first orientation, we felt confident, safe and ready to tackle the mountain. The team’s camaraderie was evident, as the guides shared a wonderful rapport with the porters and worked tirelessly every day to ensure we were comfortable on the mountain. They took excellent care of us with daily health checkups, nutritious meals, and attentive service at camp. One of the highlights was Chef Remi, who baked us a special cake for our anniversary. The team even celebrated with us, singing and dancing—a truly unforgettable moment! We are deeply grateful for everyone who made this journey so memorable. From Stan and Caroline in the office to our incredible guides, Michael and Samson, as well as our talented cook Remi and the entire crew—Lama, Emmanuel, Kenny, Mishak, Selvius, Lodison, Aloise, and AbdulJamal—thank you for making this adventure of a lifetime possible. “One team, one dream”. Habari Adventure - Class Act. - Habari Adventure - Class Act. I did summit Mt. Kilimanjaro on New Year’s Eve, thanks to the dynamic duo, Joseph and Ramadhani. You will be spending “long days” with your tour guide – sometimes 8 hours of trekking in one day. So you better hope you two get along. With Joseph, it was a piece of cake – and included non-stop laughs from start to finish. Personable, perfect English, very smart. Made you feel safe at all times. Ramadhani is the “motivator”. He exudes warmth, comfort and has this natural ability to nurture and re-energize you during that final push to Summit. I also wanted to mention Derick. His title was waiter. But in reality he took care of every detail to make sure you were comfortable and customized it based on what he saw you liked. Grateful to wake up to hot coffee room service, tussling in the tent as to whom is going to put my gaiters on, the multiple force feedings - but Madame, you need your energy! This is all in play – our sense of humor was very compatible and he was top notch. I watched other guides, from other companies, along the way – to them – it was another day at the job. My tour Guide’s demeanor was I am here to help you achieve your dream. Details matter: It was a well-run operation. The team is competent, and no detail was missed. Before we left for summit night, I remember the guides inserting new batteries into my head torch, making sure all my summit gear was on correctly – i.e. tightening my gloves around jacket to make sure no cold air got in. When my toes were starting to freeze, they (in a matter of seconds) removed my hiking boots, inserted the toe warmers, and put my hiking boots back on. That’s how exhausted I was, and that’s how caring they were. I recorded most of my trip, because I knew it would be something I would want to enjoy, forever. When I hear one particular song – that they sang. Jambo Bwana - Hakuna Matata the Kilimanjaro song - I can’t help but feel happy. I will remember the team forever. Lori Kuehn
