Authentic! - Amazing local and very authentic experience :) beautiful and easy waterfall hike. Very tasty coffee and lunch. Innocent one of the three guides knows a lot about the chagga way of life and the surroundings as he grew up and has lived in this village all his life. Can only recommend!

Best tour ever! - It was the best trip with Jack and we can’t recommend it enough!! Go go go 😊 He was so kindly and friendly, and it was so interesting to talk with him about his culture and the nature. The nature was so beautiful and you will not regret to go on this trip.

An Unforgettable Trip to Materuni Village and Waterfall - I had a great trip to Materuni village and the waterfall, and I highly recommend it! The tour guides are very welcoming and show a strong commitment to ensuring an unforgettable visit. The preparation of the coffee was a highlight of my trip to Tanzania. Not only was it a fascinating experience, but also the taste was wonderful. The hike to Materuni Waterfall offers stunning views as the way leads through the beautiful landscapes on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. At the end of the excursion, I could enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal prepared with local ingredients. The trip exceeded my expectations!

Good day trip to waterfall - I had nice daytrip to the waterfall. I learned a lot about fruit, made some coffee and saw the waterfall. I recommend this tour to get a good view of the way of life of one of the trobes near the Kilimanjaro. Everything was organised well.

Awesome experience - Had a great experience. The hike was not very hard and the waterfall was amazing. My parents are in there 70s and had no problem with hike. Coffee plantation was great, was so fun making our own coffee. The lunch provided was very good. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone

Must do excursion - This excursion totally made my trip to Tanzania! I could not recommend this enough for anyone traveling to Kilimanjaro/Tanzania whether solo or with a group. Was a very immersive experience and the guide was so personable and awesome. Materuni is a beautiful place with kind people. Lunch was very delicious and coffee was aromatic!

Enjoyed the interaction with the village people. - Fascinating visit with our chagga guide. Waterfall was beautiful as were the people we met along the way. The road was clogged with pedestrians in their Sunday finest on the way to church which was quite a spectacle. The coffee presentation and lunch was quite good. Our guide was excellent and was a resident of the village. Overall a pleasant half day

Genuinely authentic experience with the best guide! - We had a great experience with Boni and everyone during our Migombani coffee experience! We decided to book the tour in the last minute and Boni was flexible, responded right away and set us up with a friendly Tuk-Tuk driver, Stephen to pick us up from our accommodation and bring us up the hill. The experience felt authentic not manufactured to be “cultural”. The lunch was delicious and the waterfall was beautiful, but the highlight was that everyone welcomed us warmly and Boni was kind and open in sharing his knowledge of the place he grew up in, as well as patient to answering any questions. We highly recommend this experience!

Super fun, great experience - Boni gave an AWESOME tour, honestly I don’t think it could have been any better! He is super personable and will take great care of you, and also speaks fantastic English. The coffee making is at HIS HOME with his own family around! This was a really unique experience as a tourist, and the lunch was homemade and delicious as well. You can also buy fresh coffee beans directly from the family as well as handmade African art (this is a great way to further support the locals!) at very fair prices. The waterfall was beautiful, Boni is born and raised in Materuni so he is a great person to learn about it and the area from :) I personally opted for the motorbike option and it was very fun, but be warned the roads are not ideal (extremely bumpy/rarely paved) and CAN be dangerous if you aren’t strong enough to hold on tight. If you aren’t super adventurous/don’t feel confident on the back of a bike, go with the slower but safer tuk tuk ride and you’ll be just fine! That said, Boni is an AMAZING driver and took exceptional care of me even when I was admittedly a little scared on the roads haha—can absolutely recommend this tour to anyone. Thank you, Boni!
