Materuni & coffee Experience - We had a great guide, Ally, who was a whiz with our iPhones as well as the trail to help us get really amazing photos & videos. The waterfalls were a cool respite at the end of a good mid-level hike. We were there in the wet season so that made for some muddy crossings to get to the waterfall. Then we had great fun at the coffee roasting and traditional coffee preparations followed by a generous portioned lunch with our hosts. A lovely day and different from the other days on safari.

Scenic and wet - Beautiful gorgeous on the way up. Guide explain all the local flora. It's a hike 1 hr), especially on the way back. The walls were amazing and the cool mist was welcome. If you have the time I do recommend.

Safari with friends and family - We loved the hike to the waterfall, lunch and coffee experience at Materuni. The hike to the waterfall may be challenging for some. Our guides Slyvester & Julius were great, and helped those in our crew that needed assistance. The banana soup was interesting. My favorite part was the coffee experience; We went to the coffee tree and they explained all about the history of coffee. Then we peeled, and crushed beans, then roasted them, and then they proceeded to make us coffee. My brother in law does not drink coffee, He loved this coffee. Definitely worth the experience.

Hike and Make Coffee - It was raining, yet we still had fun. Make sure to wear hiking gear because with the rain, it gets muddy and slippery. We were led by Ali and team. They took very nice pics and videos for us. The coffee tour was educative with a coffee treat in the end from coffee powder that we made ourselves from scratch. You can call ahead to request for lunch, which is made with a local touch. They sell coffee beans to take back home from as low as 25,000 TZSH with less caffeine and 3 years shelf life.

Beautiful day out and experience local food - Fantastic day out with our guide Augustino. Nice walk, beautiful views, authentic feel of the area and delicious food. We booked this tour after meeting Augustino in a prior tour (hot springs) and he was fantastic. Very pleasant, lots of knowledge and we got to try some local fruits from the area, on top of our planned traditional lunch. Highly recommended!

Highly Recommend KLM Safaris - A Memorable and Sustainable Experience - My partner and I had a fantastic time with KLM Safaris on the Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Tour. Our guide, Frank, was outstanding—his deep knowledge of the land and sustainability, thanks to his background in geography and the environment, really stood out. Frank’s English was excellent, and he was kind and patient, never rushing us. KLM Safaris’ commitment to sustainability was impressive, making the experience even more rewarding. For a tour that blends natural beauty with responsible practices, I highly recommend KLM Safaris. A big thanks to Frank and the team for an unforgettable day!

A great day in great places! - A beautiful, natural place. Don't overrun and it's worth a visit. Our guide Augustino was just great! Very accommodating and he knows the land, vegetation, people and culture very well. You learn a lot of exciting information and feel very safe. A very dear person. We never had a better guide! The coffee experience is very special and recommended. You can accompany the coffee process yourself and taste the fresh, organic coffee! In order for the coffee to be good, a lot is sung and danced loud and loud during the processing for motivation. After the effort over coffee there is a great "Africa mom food" with banana soup and local food, banana beer on surcharge. The waterfall is very nice and reachable after a medium-short hike. Be sure to bring your walking sticks in case of rain or wet ground!

Consider other options - The walk to the waterfalls was not that interesting. The waterfall itself was not amazing and if you've seen any number of waterfalls you won't be that impressed by it. The process of roasting and grinding coffee and lunch at a small village was interesting, however we felt the entire trip was designed to extract as much money as possible in the way of constant tips at every corner or discussion had with any local. Am on the fence whether the tour was enjoyable or not.
