- Mount Kilimanjaro - Machame 7 days has a great success rate and is really attractive the Machame route is undoubtedly the busiest on the mountain. Over 7 days, you have a fantastic journey and a great chance of summiting successfully.
The climb begins at Machame Gate, at an altitude of 1800 metres, with an approach to the south west of the mountain. It passes through majestic rainforest on the first day, before continuing up the mountain to reach Shira Camp, where the Lemosho route joins from the west. From here you traverse the southern side of the mountain to Barranco via Lava Tower, and climb the Great Barranco Wall on your way to Barafu Camp. After reaching the summit, you will descend by the Mweka trail, rather than retracing your steps along the ascent route.
The Machame route is nicknamed the
Whiskey Route
as it is considered more difficult than the
Coca Cola Route
, the nickname for the Marangu route. In reality, it is not more technically difficult, but is longer and in places steeper. The longer distance and the opportunity to
walk high, sleep low
offer much better acclimatisation and as a result a very high success rate.

Additional Information
Our treks operate with qualified guides who have a minimum of 8 years of experience on the mountain. They are also certified for Wilderness first responder. They posses great knowledge about the mountain, fauna, flora and also about the health of the climber. We always make sure our climbers are healthy throughout the trek by having daily health checks, providing fresh nutritious meals and also special guidance by the guide is provided to ensure the climber reaches the top of Kilimanjaro successfully. All our climbs are equiped with emergency oxygen cylinder.
With our friendly dream team, who have been on the mountain more than 100 times, we know exactly what it takes for you to reach to the top of Kilimanjaro and we will provide all the guidance and support that is required to make sure you reach to the summit safely.

Amazing Kilimajro Trek with 10 Friends with ZAFS - ZAFS arranged an amazing Kilimajro climb for our group of 10 friends. The guides and the porter team were amazing. They paid attention to details, the camping equipment was first class and we felt safe and motivated. 100% of our team sumitted and the credit goes to the ZAFS Team. Machame Route with the best team in Zafs tours. - We (Mountain Goats from UAE) is truly grateful for the team of Zafs tours who's with us during the hike for 7 days.
To our guides Jonathan "the Plant Scientist", Gabriel ( who used Reverse Psychology to motivate us, but it really works), Jackie our Uno Cards Master
and lastly John. To our Cook Mama Zachariah, you are the best with your team Matthew and Masellie - we never lose our appetite even in high altitude.
To Joseph the porter who's with me during the Summit day, I am so blessed with him if not because of his motivation I don't think so I will make it Uhuru Peak, you deserve to be guide in time. To all the porters who carries all the heavy stuff everyday, you are truly appreciated. You guys treated us like a Family. I wish you all the best.

Incredible experience! Would definitely partner with Zafs in the future! - Climbing Kilimanjaro has always been a life goal for me but it takes more than 1 person to make a dream into a reality. The dedication that Zafs Tours Team has shown from the lead hiker John and his team all the way to the support staff Matthew who took care of our every need, and Zakariya who made sure we ate healthy meals, and let’s not forget all the porters too. We had a hiking group of 9 people, two of whom were solo travellers. At the end of trip everyone had become a friend. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience with a professional team, Zafs Tours is one of the best options. Cheers to the wonderful team who make dreams come true and leave us with lasting memories.

AMAZING TRIP - The trip was amazing. Zafstour organized the whole trip perfectly, they are helpful and kind. We had a good time, the guides were also helpful.the food was exellent n too many varieties to eat.would definitely recommend them

SUPERB - I am writing this review for my son who made it to the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro aka "The Roof of Africa" on 9th December 2023, i.e. Tanzania's Independence Day. This incredible experience of a lifetime for my son wouldn't have been possible without the support of the entire team of Zafs Tours. Kudos to the whole crew:
- The amazing service provided by the welcoming and friendly staff at the Gillmans Store for hiring of the hiking gears.
- The mountain guide and his crew throughout the hike were incredible and my son had no complaints at all
- A very special thanks to Huzaifa and Ruqaiya
So anyone out there who has this hike in their bucket list, please contact ZAFS TOUR for the best of the best package. Everything is so perfectly organized - beginning from the hotel accommodation before your climb, hiring of the gears, the entire hike tour till the return to your hotel after your climb.

Amazing ! Startling ! Overwhelming Support Team ! - The summit to Kilimanjaro was no way possible for me unless until I was guided by John and team . Special kudos to these guys - the way they organized, the detailed briefing sessions, the incredible support staff, delicious food, the helpful porters. If it were not for Mariki - a member of John's team I believe I wouldn't have been able to summit the Uhuru peak. I would recommend ZAFS/John to anyone who is planning to summit Kilimanjaro. They really do ensure that you reach the heights.
Not to forget that John & team made us enjoy the journey throughout !

Atop Kilimanjaro Uhuru peak - We went for Kilimanjaro Summit in August 2023. 17 of us travelled to Kilimanjaro through India Hikes who are partners with ZAFS to organise end to end support for this exciting climb to the summit.
The ZAFS team is such a wonderful bunch of people that they made this entire climb look so easy. The team is very knowledgeable about the entire terrain and guided us on how to go Pole-Pole, one step at a time so as not to get tired during the steep climb and long trekking route. The stay arrangements in tents, the lunch arrangements and the food throughout had been great. The entire team is so jovial, fun loving and helpful. They were always helping the team at every step and even carried the backpacks of few team members who were too tired on long days.
Thank you John and thank you entire ZAFS team in making this trip so fun, safe and memorable for all of us.
I would definitely recommend your team to many of my friends from India who wish to scale the Kilimanjaro peak.
