The Demise of Yugoslavia is a prize-winning journey outlining the creation and dissolution of Yugoslavia. By touring four sites, we delve into Yugoslavia during the Cold War, caught between the atomic weapons of the Warsaw and NATO pacts. We investigate Tito and how his initiatives helped shape an affluent non-aligned nation. We deem the surge of nationalism following the collapse of communism. Lastly, we will experience the Yugoslav War. All of this takes place at thrilling locations, reluctant symbols of a nation that ceased to exist over two decades ago, yet remains alive in the memory of its previous inhabitants.

Marco was a passionate... - Marco was a passionate and knowledgeable tour guide. As an added bonus he also shared knowledge and stories about his own personal experiences and those of his family during the time of Yugoslavia

Fantastic tour - Marko was an incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and responsive guide. The sites you see on this tour, the first one in particular (I’ll say no more!) are amazing. Marko told some great stories that gave real colour to events in the history books. I would highly recommend.

Riveting tour of the harrowing history of Yugoslavia - Fantastic tour! Marko was an enthusiastic and incredibly informative guide. We learned so much about Yugoslavia and got to see places that we would have never otherwise visited (or even known existed). Highly recommend!

A truly enlightening experience. - Myran was excellent both in the places he took us and his ability to provide an interesting narrative connecting the places with the history of Yugoslavia. He even provided some music which was evocative of the places. It is unlikely that we would ever have visited these spots and would not have realised the significance of them in the history of Yugoslavia.

Fascinating off the beaten track tour - This was a great tour. The guide, Dario, was extremely enthusiastic and was able to make a complicated part of Balkan history understandable. This was definitely an off the beaten track tour, with stops at fascinating sites.

Hands-on and entertaining learning experience - Fascinating and informative Death of Yugoslavia tour with Miran. Features well-chosen and "off-the-beaten-path" sites around Mostar for appreciating how Yugoslavia emerged, developed, and ultimately collapsed. Miran's storytelling style, full of suspense and supplemented with audio-visual aids that he hand-picked, made the history come to life. Highly recommend.

Don't miss this one! - Excellent tour! If you even have a passing interest in NOT just the death of Yugoslavia but the history of it coming into being, and life itself in Yugoslavia, and eventually it death, this tour is beyond fascinating! Our guide Marin, wow, so passionate and he told the story in such a relatable way.
By all means, do the tours to waterfallls and pretty places, but this tour regarding Yugoslavia will leave a lasting memory. Thankyou Marin.

An informative and humbling experience - We couldn’t have asked for a more passionate and dedicated guide. Dario not only supplied us with the context necessary to understand the breakup of Yugoslavia, but also went into detail about the lives and outlook of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian people leading up to these key moments, and offered valuable insight into existing tensions. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and local perspective on the modern history of this country. Thank you!
