Super - The view was amazing. The hike was pretty easy and the company was great. Our guide (Tana) made this experience very special, he explained a lot of things to us and always looked after us. I would totally recommend this tour. Bring warm clothes, the night is pretty cold. 😊

Sunset and sunrise camping review - We had a fantastic experience in early August. We are a family of 4 with children aged 14 and 11. Our guide, Tana, was great. He ran with our 11 year old who was full of energy but took time to support our 14 year old who found it more challenging. The trek up took a little under 2 hours. I wouldn’t classify the walk as easy but it is not difficult if you have a reasonable level of fitness. We wore trainers, shorts and t shirts but took extra clothing for the overnight camping. At the top we had time for coffee/hot chocolate (all supplied for us) before checking out the steam from the volcano and got to taste sweet potatoes that had been cooked in the heat from the steam. We then watched the sun set and saw monkeys on our way back down to the camp (a very short distance below the summit). We were shown to our tents (2 person) which were kitted out with base mats, sleeping bags and pillows. We were then served a lovely dinner of soup followed by chicken and rice - devoured by all. There were 8 people camping in total (including the 4 of us) although we trekked up separately. We then spent some time around the camp fire with the guides and were treated to some local liquor before bed. We woke early - generally you can expect to be woken by the hundreds of people coming up the mountain for sunrise. Having camped, we had our own area where we were served breakfast (fruit, chocolate bars, banana sandwiches and eggs) and could stay to watch the sunrise. We were fortunate enough to have great visibility for both sunset and sunrise. The trek down took a little over an hour and was fairly busy given the number of people who had headed up for sunrise. Overall a great experience and one we would recommend. Special mention to Tana who looked after us brilliantly from start to finish 🙏

Climbing, camping, sunrise - This experience was top notch. Carik is a gentle soul who genuinely loves his job and wants others to experience the joy of climbing, camping, sunrise and an overall fabulous experience. I needed Cariks help in climbing and going down the mountain and Carik knows exactly what to do to make the whole experience comfortable. Loved it all.

Camping Mont Batour - Hi everyone, My girlfriend and me slept on the Mont Batour and it was amazing. The trekking was not too long and after that, the diner, the breakfast was so great. But the most important thing was that our guide was a great guide but also an amazing person.. He was always there for us and let us have our intimately also. Together with my girlfriend we slept in a tent and there was also another guide and a japanese, we discovered new tradition and a new culture.. singing, dancing and having fun around a campfire. So if you want to have an experience like this, you have to go with this association. So a real thank you to this association but the most important, thank you Jata ! Thanks a lot, William

Fantastic experience walking up and then staying over to see both the sunset and sunrise. We were served both dinner and breakfast and were able to take in the breathtaking views.

Camping on Mt Batur - an excellent experience - Firstly, this was a very organised service. We arranged everything via WhatsApp in advance from Australia, and it all worked out perfectly. We had arranged to be picked up from the ferry and the driver, Ari, was waiting for us with a sign when we arrived. The same driver also took us to our hotel post hike and looked after our luggage overnight whilst we were on the hike. Ari drove us to the base of Mt Batur where we met our guide Yon who was waiting with hiking poles and rain poncho (just in case). The hike was great and the distance is not too long. There are some steeper areas and loose gravel/rock, but it is very achievable. There are 3 rest stops on the way, if needed. Make sure you leave early enough so you don’t miss sunset. Yon was a great guide, assisting with my bag, making lots of conversation and making sure we got to the top for sunset, he also took lots of photos and videos at sunset and sunrise. He was very kind and accommodating, and he made it a very enjoyable experience for us. The food was very good - first a snack of a hot drink, chocolate bar and fruit, followed by vegetable soup, chicken and rice. The tent was already pitched for us and the sleeping bag, mat and pillow was provided. We took our own inflatable pillows and sleeping bag liners, but you really don’t need to. We enjoyed a campfire, hot drinks and some music with the 3 other overnight hikers and 2 other tour guides. We woke up early before 5am to the sound of other hikers arriving, but we didn’t need to get up as the tents are placed in prime position for sunrise. Breakfast was a boiled egg, fruit, banana sandwich and hot drink. Which we enjoyed while sitting and soaking up the view. It wasn’t too cold overnight or in the morning, we had long clothes and a puffer jacket, but you could probably just layer up. Overall it was a great experience, overnight camping is definitely worth it if you have the time. We were very happy with the service, organisation and our guide. Thank you!
