It was cloudy so didnt see a thing! - We did this trip as part of our honeymoon in June. So excited to do this trip as heard wonderful things. Quite expensive and requires a 1am wake up call if you are staying in Ubud, to then drive 1/2 hours up to the start of the trek. Its a tough slog.. need some very sturdy trainers.. its quite a steep climb and you need to have a reasonable level of fitness. One thing they dont tell you is how cold it is at the top.. probably because there is then people at the top selling/renting blankets to those who weren't told to bring a coat! So if you do this... take lots of layers.. you'll get really hot actually walking up but then at the top its V windy and cold. Unfortunately for us the weather didn't go our way... it was cloudy and so at the top we literally saw nothing. If you do this trip... check the weather! It was cloudy the entire time we stayed in Bali so there wasn't a better day we could have gone.. but if you have the option then move your trip depending on the weather. If its cloudy then you'll literally see nothing from the top of the mountain other than cloud and its a total waste of time and money. Really disappointed as some of the pictures people post are amazing
