• Port of Tauranga Ltd - Our accredited agent driver/guide will meet your chosen small group at the port gate & escort you to the vehicle in which you will be travelling. The driver/guide will have your name on a placard. We travel to Rotorua vis the historic Pyes Pah Rd. - Te Puia - After proceeding to Te Puia, the Maori Cultural Centre, clients are given a tour of the old pa site, through the thermal grounds (of boiling mud, geysers etc.) & shown the wood-carving school, flax-weaving & the kiwi bird. This is followed by a Maori Welcome onto the marae, before entering a meeting house for a performance by a Maori concert party. - Rotorua - On leaving Te Puia, we travel through Rotorua’s CBD, where lunch is purchased (at client’s cost)in Eat Street.. After lunch we travel along the lakefront, through the Government Gardens, stopping at the Rotorua Museum, the Historic Bath-house, to explain the background of this fine old building. - Mount Maunganui - We return to Tauranga via a different route, which provides clients with the opportunity to view different scenery. En route we stop briefly to explain the kiwifruit industry, from planting through to the beautiful edible fruit. To end the tour, we travel along our beautiful waterfront & beach, before returning to ship-side. While travelling, your driver/guide for the tour will give a commentary explaining points of interest.

This tour is tailored for small groups of 2-3 people, allowing for a private travel experience. After exploring the Te Puia Maori Cultural Centre, you can choose from attractions like the Redwood Forest, Blue & Green Lakes, the lakefront and gardens, the Agrodome, the luge, a winery, or any other destinations that suit your preferences. This Rotorua Tour is ideal for shore excursions from Tauranga. Guests can be picked up from local accommodations or the Port of Tauranga. The tour includes a visit to the Te Puia Maori Cultural Center for a welcome concert and a tour of its expansive thermal grounds. Additionally, the tour showcases diverse scenery along the route and includes a brief stop at a working kiwifruit orchard to explain the industry from planting to export.
