Profesional company - Before the trek the office in Moshi Tanzania as well as the Canada contact point provided excellent service on our short term requests and questions. During the trek Zara tours showed high professional level among other things our guide checked oxygen saturation and pulse as well as asked us “health questions” every evening. Meru is a hard trek with technical complexity our guide had not been on the mountain for 3 years (normally he was doing Kili). But despite this he guided us very confident and always knew the route as well as kept an eye on our individual resource situation. The rest of the team at the mountain from Zara was great as well: served us very nice food, ensured warm water mornings and when arriving so we could wash, carried the stuff we needed during nights. Our assistant Richard was always there ready to support and give a smile. Thank you yo all! To you considering to trek Meru: set your limits before you start. Along with your guide so he know your goals. Do you want to reach the summit at all costs? Do you want to have a tour where you do not get too exhausted maybe only heading for Peacock Point? Make it VERY clear for your guide. If not, he will push you to the summit the very best he can. The summit is the success criteria for him. And remember: you also need resources for the way down. It is at least 2000 altitude meters
