Must see - Wonderful to visit in March. Not too crowded and the weather was great. The house tour was good but the wagon ride was wonderful. The Gullah talk was good but the scenery was magnificent!!! I would highly recommend

A Fascinating Look at a Working Plantation and Preserved Slave Quarters - I've been wary of of plantation tours, especially ones that offer weddings(why anyone would get married on a plantation where people were enslaved? I don't know) but I was thoroughly impressed with this one. I thought I'd list things out and I found helpful/useful 1. The home on the plantation is NOT original. It was built in the 1930's by a Canadian diplomat, and as such, was not on the property when slavery was still an institution. It's also important to note that you cannot take pictures inside the house, which didn't bother me, it's still private property technically(and the upper floors are not toured. It's like touring any States executive residence). I still thought it was a lovely tour and some of the original documents in the study were fascinating to look at. 2. You really need to schedule your time to hit everything. Besides the house tour, there's 3 history talks(you've got to catch the Gullah presentation, highlight of our day) and you need to keep an eye on the time to ensure you hear them all. 3. The slave cabins are very interesting, and each has a different museum, it was definitely worth seeing them all. 4. We also really enjoyed the hay wagon tour around the property, which focuses more on agriculture and the working farm than the history, which I wish was included more(not that the agriculture wasn't interesting). We really felt that the story and impact of slavery was not kept out of the way and hidden. It's full force and definitely covered (I don't know what other people are talking about with that one). Overall, we really enjoyed our day at Boone Hall and definitely recommend it to other people.

Boone Hall Plantation - A must see for every American who values the actual history of our country and the beauty and history of the South. A beautiful and truthful look at a real plantation, the slaves held there and the truth of the owners and their lifestyles.

Terrific and worthwhile - This was extremely worthwhile, wonderfully presented by nice and knowledgeable staff. The history of enslaved people found in the enslaved quarters was excellent, the historical facts clear. Overall, Boone Hall Plantation provided an unvarnished history

Wonderful experience - Boone Hall Plantation was absolutely wonderful. There is so much to see and do. The gardens are beautiful. Really enjoyed seeing all of the slaves houses and learning what they had to go through. Was looking forward to the wagon ride, but rain the night before prevented the wagons from being taken the day we were there. It was a great experience for all ages.

It was OK - It was OK as previous reviews the house tour is only 3 rooms and not particularly historic. The tractor ride, not much to see interesting commentary about the planing. The gullah lady and enslaved cabins was the most interesting part.
