This is a walking tour with a difference, guided by Captain Bryan. It’s not the typical ‘sit and listen’ type of tour, where the guide doesn’t bother to know your name. Instead, after a quick introduction, Captain Bryan will guide you through the historical rise of Shem Creek and its renowned shrimping fleet, amongst other things. This tour provides a unique opportunity to witness the industry in action. If luck strikes, you might even meet Mr. Rector at Geechie Seafood, surrounded by his numerous shrimp boats, a glorious symbol of the abundant catch waiting out in the ocean. This isn’t just a tour; it is an opportunity to truly engage with the culture of Shem Creek.
