Be sure to do a glacier hike while in Iceland! Icelandic Mountain Guides are first-rate. - WOW! We really loved this glacier hike - so amazing! Such an incredible and beautiful experience. Oskar Magnus Hardarsson was our guide, and he was terrific! Oskar made sure my adventurous 15-year-old son and a couple others got some extra special opportunities without taking one element away from the rest of our group. A bit of rain was no problem and did not hamper our enjoyment one bit. I definitely recommend doing this glacier hike! Thank you Oskar and Icelandic Mountain Guides!

Great hiking on glacier tour - It was a great experience for us in a such wonderful day with a nice guide Sam who is very professional that we learned a lot from him. It was a small tour group, my son with me and another lady, only three of us. We had a very nice walk on the glacier. I used an empty bottle to fill a full bottle of glacier water. All of us did the push up type drinking on the glacier.

Great yet with very good guidance from Kari Timsson/icelandic mountain guides. - Great trip on the glacier of 3 hours, well prepared, good equipment, serious guidance, great pictures taken. Children aged 12/14 loved it too. The road to the glacier in the superjeep is an experience in itself. Unique experience!! Kari Timsson our Guide was very enthusiastic, lots of knowledge. He also spoke Dutch fairly well after living in the Netherlands for a few years. We had a nice conversation with him about similarities / differences between the Netherlands and Iceland, the folklore of Iceland etc. I would definitely recommend this trip with good guidance!!! The glacier was beautiful, gorges seen, glacier water drunk.

Bad guide! - Have made the hike as complete Beginners. First of all, you walk with all the equipment to the glacier for 20-30 minutes, due to climate change. Unfortunately, the guide was very quick in his explanations and also in his running pace. He's given paths with the ice pick, walked ahead and barely looked around. My companion slipped once, fell down and came up just before a 40m deep gorge. The guide was no longer in our field of vision at the time (were at the very back), so I had to pull my escort up over the crevice with the ice pick... We really didn't feel safe from that point on. The guide made the group feel that we were Beginners and talked a lot “from above” when something didn’t work out. Quote: “If we go this way, we’ll still be here tomorrow because I have to explain everything.” The route wasn’t really varied apart from that – no ice caves or anything else. Another group even did ice climbing in a safe place, apparently we just had enormous bad luck with our guide. Unfortunately, we didn’t remember the name (Caspar or something, always said “nice”). So for the price, with the guide, really no Recommendation!
