The most amazing activity in Iceland - Literally the best activity done in Iceland! Our guide Daniel was super amazing, he helped us overcome our fears from the glacier hike and made us enjoy the experience to the max! Can’t explain how magical it felt to be on top of this glacier and how satisfying the whole hike is! Definitely recommended!!

Excellent glacier walk - This trip was incredible our tour guide Jay from Slovakia was very knowledgeable. He made the trip fun and safe. We climbed down inside the glacier , views amazing, well worth every penny. Great being in a small group (12 of us) as lots of equipment to sort. The walk was 5km just about the right amount of time and distance for all to enjoy.

Amazing, unique experience with breathtaking views - This glacial walking tour is a Must Do! Dress warmly and be prepared for rain or snow and wind, although we were very lucky for our time on the glacier, the weather does change frequently in Iceland. Our guide, Indra, shared so much information about glaciers and made time for anyone who wanted to see a special view or have a unique experience that required his help. He was patient and helpful with people who needed extra assistance and it felt safe the whole time with our special equipment. This was a special experience and our group will have these amazing pictures and memories forever. This unique experience requires a guided tour and Arctic Adventures was a great outfit to partner with! If you are on the fence, this experience is definitely worth your time!!

WOW!! - Once in a lifetime opportunity to see a slowly disappearing glacier. Was absolutely breathtaking when we got up there, our guide Francesco was super experienced and even took us to see a beautiful crevasse. Couldn’t recommend it more, no photos of the view will ever do it justice. Super safe and breathtaking!!

Beautiful views, but fast pace - We hiked the Sólheimajökull Glacier with Arctic Adventures. While the glacier is stunning and the views are spectacular, there are a few things to note about the tour. First, get there early. When we booked, it said to arrive 15 minutes early. The email the night before said to arrive right at 10am. Don’t trust the email the night before. We arrived at 10 and were the last people to arrive and felt rushed to get our gear squared away. Second, we are by no means unfit. We both work out and have great cardio function. But…be advised that the pace of the hike is the same speed as you would normally walk in a city with hills. Our phones showed our average speed at 2.7mph. We live in a flat area at low elevation, so we had some trouble keeping up. As a result, we didn’t truly have time to focus on the beauty around us. Our guide, Gaia (I’m sure I spelled that wrong) was wonderful and very knowledgeable. We did learn a lot from her! At the end of the day, be sure you’re clear on what the tour will entail. We wish we would have done a private tour that would have been at an enjoyable pace.

Go with another company - The trip was labeled “11 hour climbing adventure” and it is misleading. The extent of the “climbing” was less than two hours with a less than ideal guide from Italy with the rest if the time being dedicated to driving. This is a very beginner experience so if you have ice climbing experience with gear I suggest you do it on your own. I brought my own gear and was not allowed to use it because of “insurance” reasons. I opted to sign a waiver for the insurance issue and was not offered one. The conversation between the guide and I went something like “you either use our gear or you can leave” leaving me forced to use their shotty gear or lose out on $500 US dollars. We were “allowed” to keep our nepal boots but those who did not bring mountaineering boots had to pay 1000 icelandic for rentals when the site states that rentals are included in the pricing. Overall not a great trip if you have ice climbing experience. Use another company that will allow you to use your own gear if you’re bringing it with you or just venture out on your own.
