An amazing experience - We did this trek on a Tuesday evening, and appreciated every moments of it. We were only me and my wife, guided by Wayan, a very friendly guide from the company. He took care of us from the beginning to the end : slowing down during the climb-up when it was getting a bit difficult for us, proposing to take pictures of us every times we liked some place, adding some foam for confort on the benches... Simple, but very appreciated. We were lucky enough to see both a clear sunset, and a clear sun rise. The sunset was magical, because of the total quiet and very few people on the top at that time. Dinner and breakfast were simple, but good, and I I'll remember for long our evening near our small camp fire, comparing our own culture and life with Wayan's. Confort of the night was austere, but well, it is just one night, and you don't come here to have luxury hotel services. Sunset was great too, but you have to know that a LOT of people do the climb-up during the night to see it. So you go to bed almost alone, but when you wake up for the sunrise, you are with tens of people with you ! That does decrease the peacefulness of the experience, but not it's beauty. I recommend. Thank you again Wayan, take care of you! 🙏

Exceptional - We took the camping tour of mt batur, and it was such a wonderful experience. We were guided by subagia, who made sure we were safe, and all our needs are met. He enjoys helping his guests and this is very evident in his interactions with us. he happily takes pictures for us, and serves us food, makes sure we are warm, and kept checking on us from time to time. He kept with our individual pace, and was never short of encouraging words for us to keep going. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and his stories. He was a very big part of why the camping trip was worth it. Thank youuuu

Amazing experience - This experience has been simply wonderful. Our guide Subagia was very kind and helpful asking us if we were tired or we have to take a break. He has explained us the trekking route before we started. We have enjoyed the sunset, had dinner and then we have talked around the bonfire with our friend Soubagia about indonesian tradition and culture, It was amazing

An incredible hiking and camping adventure! - This tour had every detailed covered from the moment we were picked up to the moment we were dropped off. Completely individualised to suit our wants and needs. Our driver Bayu and our guide Kuas absolutely made this your perfect. Even before we were picked up they communicated well and followed up with us. The drive was very comfortable just us 2 in the car. Everything stated in the tour was explained to us again by Bayu and also had a great time talking, answering all our questions and resting. We told him our plans and helped us organise our boat ride we needed afterwards. We drove past some spots and he was happy to make a plan to stop on our way back after. When we met Kuas he was very friendly and helped us up the volcano. He was very experienced and knew the volcano very well and very knowledgeable. He took us a faster but steeper route with better views. He explained us the options and we were happy for this way. The hike itself was a challenge but felt very accomplished when we finished. We were pretty slow and needing lots of stops but Kuas always made us feel comfortable and safe. We saw monkeys and lots of amazing spots on the way. When we made it to the top it was so amazing to see the sunset. The food prepared was great. The cooking of the egg in the volcano steam was a highlight! Kuas even made a fire for us after dinner. The tent was all set up and comfortable. Then we woke up early to get ready for the sunrise and Kuas made sure we had a perfect spot that wasn’t crowded. He was also an amazing photographer getting so many brilliant shots. The hike down was a easier route and was lovely and Kuas knew the best spots. The Luwak coffee plantation was fun to learn how it is made and taste different flavours. The hot springs was also incredible! Then Bayu took us back and he helped us get our boat tickets and make sure we were all okay before he left. This is definitely one of the most amazing experiences I have had!

An amazing experience - What a mind-blowing adventure. Our guide Kuas was so helpful and encouraging on the hike up! He was patient and didn’t make me feel bad for needing to take rest breaks. He thought of every detail and was really prepared. The food cooked by Kuas in the volcano was a highlight. The tent was well set up and comfortable. We had the best seats for the sunrise with a breakfast from Kuas. We have photos for a lifetime of memories. This was a great adventure and an excellent way to see the sunset, sunrise, monkeys and the caldera.

With and without the crowds - I thought I’d beat the early start by going up the evening before and camping. Well, the fireside camp and meal were great but my sleep not so much - the ground is still hard under the squab. Maanwiss my guide figured me out quickly and kept things to a sensible pace up the hill. Having the summit pretty much to ourselves for a beautiful sunset, and then watching the lines of head torches coming up pre-dawn the next morning was pretty cool. Maanwiss told me heaps of geological history, pointed out his village and all the local geography, made sure I was well fed and carried the stuff I didn’t really need all the way up and all the way down. You couldn’t meet a nicer guy or a better guide, and I really recommend him. Take the camping option if you want to experience Gunung Batur without and then with the crowds. Seeing it both ways was pretty special.
