Embark on a one-day journey to uncover Georgia’s historical relics. We’ll explore the ancient Jvari monastery, perched on a hilltop where the Mtkvari and Aragavi rivers converge. This monastery earned its spot on UNESCO’s world heritage list in 1994. Wander through the old town of Mtskheta, once the capital of the Iberia kingdom. Take in the beauty of the ornate balconies and architectural grandeur. Visit the enormous Svetitskhoveli church, constructed in the 11th century, housing what is believed to be the robe of Christ. The city of Gori, birthplace of renowned communist leader Jozeph Stalin, is next on our route. Here, you’ll get to tour Stalin’s home, museum, and train wagon with a knowledgeable local guide. Finally, we’re off to the cave town of Uplistsikhe, situated 10 km from Gori. Known as the fortress of the lord, Uplistsikhe is considered one of Georgia’s earliest urban settlements by archaeologists.
