Memorable and Beautiful Day Trip! - We had such a memorable day exploring 4 different temples. Our tour guide was Jackie, and he was knowledgeable, funny, thoughtful and overall an amazing guide. although the tour required a bit of driving from our hotel in Chiang Mai, it was so worth it and we would absolutely do it again! Jackie also took us to a very yummy local restaurant for lunch where we had DELICIOUS Khao Soi and dessert. 10/10 would recommend this to anyone visiting. Thanks Jackie 🤗

Temples with a wonderful guide! - We booked a trip from our hotel in Chiang Mai to visit temples in Chiang Rai. We were picked up at 7:00am by our most capable driver and tour guide, Tong. Tong was a charming, witty, jokester who put us at easy with his accommodating style and his English was very good. He provided us with drinks and snacks as we began our trek. Our first stop along the way was at a geothermal geyser where you could soak your feet in the warm pools. Tong went out of his way and provided plastic matador us to sit on so we wouldn’t get wet. We then visited a local temple called Wat Sant Kaew Photiyan. We had to take a slight walking detour which Tong assisted us with. We passed through a beautiful fern and stream garden on our way to the temple. Magnificent! Next we visited the White Temple. Tong was always insisting on using our camera to get magnificent photos of the two of us in front of great views of the temple. Tong treated us to lunch and made sure we had enough to eat. We had two more temples planned but since it rained and had rained earlier in the week, the China Temple was flooded and we couldn’t access. We finished our tour at the Blue Temple. Tong was extremely knowledgeable about every stop on the tour. We arrived at at our hotel around 6:30pm. Tong was one of our best tour directors ever!!! Great trip!

Great Day in Chiang Rai with Tong - Our excursion to Chiang Rai was great. Despite a mostly rainy day and areas of flooding, our tour guide Tong was great. He had a wonderful attitude, with interesting facts and conversation. His English was really good and he always made sure we were doing well. He brought us some homemade snacks from his village as well as water and soft drinks, should we want them. We first visited a local temple Wat Sanf Kaew Photiyan - unknown to me which was beautiful and unique. Rain made for challenging moments but Tong was prepared with umbrellas and wipes. This Temple was under renovation but worth the effort as well as the beautiful lush gardens. Our next stop was the White Temple, a truly impressive site and a very good reason for any tourists to visit Chiang Rai. Tong explained much about the building of it, the traditions and ensured we were proper in our attire and attitude, so we didn’t offend anyone. Everything is very proper. Despite wearing a skirt Ting suggested I bring a large scarf to cover my legs. (Note: Larry’s shorts ended above the knees so it’s always interesting what women wear being a possible issue.). We had a good lunch and shared life stories. Tong is a good listener. We felt we had known him for years. After we tried to get to the Big Buddha and the Chinese Temple there was nothing to do because of the flooding. No way in. So with disappointment we had to skip it, viewing big Buddha from a distance. And next visited the Blue Temple. While this was also still under renovation, it was worth the visit. Tong is a great photographer and we had more pictures than ever. I’ve had other excursions with Expedia, trip advisor and viator but a guide like Tong is a rare delight. When my battery pack failed and my phone had low power, Tong offered to charge it in the car. So glad! Thank you Tong for making a possibly difficult day much better and sharing so much of your knowledge with us.
