Acting at SJ studios - Had a great time at SJ studios guided by Raj and Mukesh. They took us around the studios and we recorded a scene at the end which was great fun!! They were both very friendly and welcoming and made the tour memorable

Bombay good time - Raj was a very attentive guide, explaining the history of Mumbai on our way to the film studios. We got to see a live set and dance, alongside a few videos briefly explaining the history of Bollywood. If you want an in depth historical view of Bollywood this is not the place, but if you want to witness the reality of a day in the life inside a bollywood studio, then this is it. Drive to and from studio was around 1:15 HR each

Mumbai Bollywood Studio Tour - Driver Mukesh from the company Mystical Mumbai brought us to the SJ studios from where the lady guide took us through the studios and provided interesting facts! It was really fun and very nice to experience the Bollywood vibe! 😃 We were amazed to see and feel the different spaces where popular scenes from hit movies were recorded. Afterwards Mukesh took us to the houses of some popular actors to catch a glimpse. He was really nice and very helpfull to us, he is a good guy! 🙏🏽

Real Bollywood Experience - We enjoyed this typical Indian Bollywood "Action" tour. The transfers from/to Colaba were perfectly organised, but took one hour drive each way. First, we got a nice introduction with Nidli in the SJ-Museum and Theatre with Dance Shows. After a Karaoke action in the sound studio, we were guided through different sets. It was really life as we were walking through different actions where the film directors guided the actors with there microphones. It is not a artificial fun park like in Hollywood, this is a real experience! Go for it!

Fun and well organised - Overall we had a good time and fun. The super nice and friendly driver picked up really on time at the hotel and drove us to the SJ Studios. Over there we met our guide and started the tour. We got a chance to see many sets and also some on going TV -shows shooting. Personally the most fun part was the final Bollywood dance show some guys performed for us. Everything was really well organised and the guide gave his best to let us understand this world. We booked the tour one day in advance and they organised everything really fast. If your are also curious about the Bollywood world and you want to have a fun experience in Mumbai just go for it and booked the tour with Mumbai Mystical Tour!

Overpriced, exaggerated but a bit of fun - A little surprised of all the very high ratings on TripAdvisor for this one so check other reviews. Our experience started with the guide an hour and a half late. During this time we used text, WhatsApp and direct call to try to communicate with company without success. This reflects reviews on other sites. When the guide did arrive he then had to get a driver. The long trip in was fine as Raj is very knowledgeable and willing to discuss all of India - the time went by easily. The studio itself is a small site and at this time you should put any preconceptions about this tour reflecting your images of large, over the top Bollywood completely to the back of your mind in order to just enjoy the experience. It started with 4 dancers in a small room. They were good but not quite the ‘Bollywood’ experience. Each dance was followed by a short film purely as time fillers so the dancers could get their breath. One of the films was purely an ad for this little studio. At the end there was a bit of fun joining in for a dance. We then had a brief stop where we tried on a costume and had a photo with a mechanical horse. This gave the guide the opportunity to show how a green background works. It was then off for the studio tour where a show was being recorded, although couldn’t actually get near enough to the set to see. We then saw the ‘permanent’ sets of a hospital, jail and office which were very underwhelming. We finished with a bit of karaoke which was fun and was to show us how audio dubbing was done. However, this was going to be through sending it to us via email but it never came. Most of the enjoyment of the day was ruined by the drive to just ‘look at a shop’ afterwards. The line of ‘it costs a lot to park here so if you look at this guy’s shop we get parking for free’ (hard to think there is any truth in this as the driver who dropped us off was different to the one who picked us up and dropped us at the shop and then a different one to take us back to the hotel). Anyway, as you would expect, the shop was a really hard sell on tourists. Look, if you’ve got extra time, happy to throw some dollars away (definitely overpriced) and want a bit of fun- may as well do it - just don’t expect the Bollywood experience you may have imagined.
