Humbling and educational - We were a little reticent to book this tour as we worried about voyeurism, but Kamlesh was insistent that he really wanted to show us around. He explained that the slums are an important and integral part of Mumbai and that it would be good for us to see it for ourselves. The housing problem in the city is so dire that even middle class peopel live in slums. (there are, of course, different levels of what constitutes a 'slum') Kamlesh had given us a wonderful tour around the markets and main sights of the city the day before, so we trusted his judgement and perspective. It was a truly eye-opening experience to see how many people live and work - by turns shocking and surprising - and what comes across very strongly is the resilience and stoicism of the people and the strong family bonds they have which makes life meaningful (and bearable). Kamlesh took us to his own house where we met his wife, children and extended family. We felt honoured and humbled. Kamlesh is a very knowledgeable, friendly, sensitive and expert guide and I don't think we woudl have done this tour if we hadn't already met and trusted him. Would thoroughly recommend this as an essential tour when visiting the city.

Unforgettable moment in Dharavi - I’m a Grade 11 student passionate about understanding how happiness takes different shapes depending on people’s lives. Visiting Dharavi Slum made me realize exactly what my dream is. Our tour guide, Bharati Didi, was truly dedicated to her work, and I have great respect for her. She was incredibly open-minded, sharing her life stories with us, and she made every effort to provide the best possible experience within the time limits. I could feel that she wasn’t just doing her job for herself but genuinely striving to make visitors happy through their experience in Dharavi. Dharavi is a unique slum, unlike any other, and I’m certain that just two hours there can teach you so much. Thank you for this incredible opportunity, and a special thanks to Bharati Didi for being such an amazing guide!

Visit to the neighbourhood of Dharavi with Sneha. - We had a guided tour through Dharavi with Sneha. As a resident herself, she was authoritative, kind, and welcoming. It was a humbling experience to be introduced to the lives of the residents of this remarkable neighbourhood through, as it were, her eyes. We're privileged to have visited. Thank you.

Thanks to Mayur and Rahul - Today one of my dreams came true. My friends and I visited the Dharavi slum. It was a very interesting excursion. And it was only thanks to our friendly guide. Mayur told interesting stories, answered all our questions and showed us all the corners of Dharavi. I highly recommend it to everyone, it's not scary at all. Dharavi will definitely surprise you.

Thanks to Mayur and Rahul - It was the best experience in Mumbai for me and my group of 7 friends. Thanks to Rahul for quick response, lucky us booked an excursion 2h before. Our guide Mayur is very profesional and did his best for us! We’ve seen… EVERYTHING! We are very impressed, especially of the conditions people live and how happy they are! People there are so smily, friendly and warm. Please do not be afraid to go for this experience, it definitely worths it. You will be shocked, but it is really not bad small, not a lot trash, no dangerous people etc. We did slum excursion, had a pottery lesson and beatiful ladies did henna for us. Guys, i wish you good luck, improve yourself and stay so happy!
