Challenge your expectations of a slum - Leena was a wonderful guide. The whole experience was seamless from beginning to end. This tour challenged the expectations we had of a slum. It really is a hub of industry and entrepreneurs.

Spirit of community - The visit and tour around Dharavi had been the most thought provoking experience and enjoyable tour I had in Mumbai. Leena did a fantastic job in explaining the history, and the current ways of life in the vibrant, working community. The hopes, ambition and drive of the people of Dharavi in the 'City of Dreams' is powerful. Visitors can learn where true strength comes from.

Eye-Opening and Educational ExperiencE - This tour was a truly eye-opening experience that provided a deeper understanding of life in Dharavi, one of the largest slums in Asia. Our guide was knowledgeable and respectful, showing us both the challenges and the resilience of the community. We visited small businesses, recycling units, and local workshops, which highlighted the industrious spirit of Dharavi’s residents. Although some parts of the tour were emotionally heavy, it was an important reminder of the strength and creativity within this community. Highly recommend it for those wanting to gain insight beyond the typical tourist spots.

Excellent and informative tour - Really cool tour! Our guide was excellent - he grew up in the area himself and was able to answer all of our questions. He actually learnt English through the Reality Gives NGO, and his English was fantastic. We learnt about the many different types of industry that operate in the area, as well as the work being done by the Reality Gives NGO. We were a bit hesitant about the ethics of a 'slum tour' but this was a great experience that focussed on the resourcefulness of the people and the long-established local culture; many residents could afford to live elsewhere but choose to stay in their communities. Would highly recommend.

Fascinating and educational - This tour is fascinating and educational. We learnt so much from our guide Chetan about the workings of Dhavari and daily life for the people who live there. Chetan was great company and we learnt a lot from him. We saw different parts of Dhavari, from recycling, production of clothes, fabrics, pottery and schools for the kids. Highly recommended.

highly recommend! eye opening experience - highly recommend, This company is kind and respectful of the families and areas we walk through. An eye opening experience! I recommend taking close toed shoes and you aren't allowed to take pictures either. We had a group of about 10 when we road together on the subway but were broken into two smaller groups once we arrived. Alleys are narrow and space can be tight at times so small groups were perfect! part of there proceeds go back into the community which is amazing!
