Re-discovering the city - I had the best experience re-exploring the city. In a limited city with limitless stories, today's tour told me so, so many new ones. I am very glad that I got to do the tour with such an enthusiastic and well read guide as Mr. Navin. I am truly and undoubtedly in debt to him for helping me discover new spaces and stories about a city I've lived in for so many years. To fellow lover of Mumbai, This is the tour for you. Even if you think you know a lot about Bombay or Mumbai, I can assuredly tell you that you will come out of this tour with a happy, entertained and fulfilled heart having learned a thing or two that you can flaunt the next time you bring your friends or family to the city. Khaki has thankfully never failed to entertain this curious side of my brain. I genuinely look forward to attending more of such walks. Thanks for Keeping Heritage Alive & Kicking in India. Thank you, Mr. Navin, for being such a wonderful Ambassador and Guide of Bombay and Mumbai, for you seamlessly blended the past and the modern history of the city and helped me become a slightly more aware citizen of the city. Because of you, I now know where the Fort walls were. That remains the best part of today! Love, Ruchira ;)

BMC, a heritage in Urbs Prima in Indis - Took the BMC building (Urbs Prima) tour. It was a very good one! We enjoyed it. Our host from Khaki Tours, Indranil Chakravorty, who is from the Corporate World, pursues heritage more than a hobby and educates more than a volunteer. He was gracious enough to spend more time than slotted to answer the many questions we had and showed how he is still a researcher-student of heritage willing to dig deeper in his quest to give more info even on one question. Despite having visited and guided around the BMC building in the past, there were nuggets of information that were still not known to me, which Indranil shared. Like the little battle to design the structure in London that delayed its making, the transitional architecture the building came to represent, comparable designs in the city and across India. The amazing dome and why it is smaller from the outer one, intricate carvings of creatures, arches, obsessions or rather the identifiers of Architect F W Stevens works who designed the building. The tour is a good opportunity to see from up close spaces not accessible on a daily basis and the many pic opportunities it offers. It informs how the structure acknowledges contributions of communities through their distinct headgears that made it into a trade city it grew into and to cater whose needs the Corporation came into existence. Also, learnt of the 'Father of the Corporation', history of the Mayor's office and how the BMC came to become "of the people, for the people and by the people" for the structure and its heritage to be relevant to Citizens and heritage lovers to date! Do try out! You will know much about the city you live in to cherish and enjoy it more. Look forward to participating in other tours.

Khaki also has a great collection of old photos and maps of mumbai . Thank you Priya for conducting it even if I was the only guest that day :) ( quiet rainy sundays are nice bec no crowd or traffic )

Awesome walking tour - Highly recommended walking tour that not only touches upon important points in the history of Mumbai but points out much of the architectural beauty that exists in the city. Just driving by these sights can not compare to walking.

Must do walking tour!!! - There is so much hidden history that one would never discover by just walking around alone. This tour brings Mumbai history to life by highlighting key historical people and how they influenced the buildout and architecture of the city. Fascinating tour. Our guide Rizvan was charismatic, easy to understand, and very patient with all of our questions :)
