Mumbai at Dawn No Footprints - We just returned from the Mumbai at Dawn tour by No Footprints with our amazing guide Adi. We are a mixed group of kids up to grandparents and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It provided a unique experience of how some of the Mumbai markets work. Adi made the whole experience so memorable through the various stories and jokes - it was such a pleasure and thank you so much. I would definitely recommend - it was definitely worth the early start!

Morning in Mumbai markets - Namrata our wonderful knowledgeable guide met us very early in the morning. Our driver was excellent. Mumbai was sleepy as we arrived at the bustling fish market, good explanations given of workers and fish. We visited paper, flower, fruit and veg markets finishing with a local cup of chai, before being safely returned to the hotel…. Seeing the real Mumbai was amazing. Thankyou Namrata

We went to a produce market, where she let me try new fruits. Wonderful tour and extremely conscience guide, I’ve already recommended to two friends!

A Authentication and Memorable trip to Mumbai - Batul Munim was the perfect guide for me. She is upbeat, funny very energetic and she showed me places I would have never seen in a normal tour. Batul took me to the inner workings of the Mumbai fish market. We were able to go all the way to the docks and I got to see the workings of the Kali women. That was something so unique and authentic! I even got hit in the head by the fins of a huge shark that one of the women was carrying on top of her head. I have it on video and it is hysterical. Our driver was also exceptional. He took care of me so well that it made me smile. His name is Dharamveer. The combination of the two of them made my trip to Mumbai so memorable that I want to return. I even hired them an extra day just to spend more time with them.

Early start but well worth it - Thank you Batul, you made us very feel very welcome. We went to the fish market, the veg market and the flower market, stopping by a newspaper sorting place. Batul, gave us a bit of a history lesson and quiz. We enjoyed the hustle bustle of the markets . Lots of great photo opportunities and some tasty marsala tea. Everyone was very friendly and smiley even if we did not buy a hundredweight of fish or oranges! The driver was very clam, helpful and careful, he did not bib is horn once! We will remember the trip so recommend it.

Trip of a Lifetime - The Golden Triangle - Organised by Great Rail Journeys, we’ve just returned from a fabulous Indian tour. Can honestly say, it’s was one of the best holidays we’ve ever been on. From start to finish, the 11 day intensive schedule ran like clockwork, under the guidance of Alan, our professional and unflappable Tour Guide. He was assisted in India by Dhillip, a very knowledgeable gentlemen, who had a very keen interest in the history of the places we visited. We were informed, in advance, of any alterations to the schedule, which took us to Delhi, Agra, Rathambore National Park, Jaipur and Mumbai and felt that we had experienced the real India. The welcome we received from many of the places we visited, was one of happiness to see us, and a willingness to ensure our stay was a memorable one. Hotel staff were very polite, cheerful and helpful. One of the first trips was to Old Delhi, where we clambered into waiting rickshaws, for a truly hair-razing ride in the Delhi traffic. Then turned off into very narrow side streets, in the busy bazaar area of Chandni Chowk. There were a couple of very early starts, to the Game Reserve (in search of the Bengal Tiger). Plus, to see a busy quayside fish market, newspaper distribution organisation, a vegetable market and a flower market. The markets were very colourful, very intense and gave you a good picture of ‘India at Work’ We had trips out to major sites - Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri, Mahatma Ghandi’s cremation site, Palace of Winds and an Observatory, built by the Moghuls. This included a huge sundial, constructed in the 1500s, that was accurate to 2 seconds. Interspersed with the above were trips to carpet makers and a jewellery maker, Gandhi’s memorial museum and a 140 year old outdoor laundry. You are harassed a little by street sellers, but only mainly when getting on/off the coach. Most of their wares are quite cheap in cost and you can purchase some really good bargains. There was smog in Delhi, due to stubble being burnt off in the surrounding fields, but we were only there for 2 days, before travelling on to Agra. Delhi has a population of around 33 million (almost 1/2 of the UK) and its traffic could easily be described as ‘organised chaos’. However, we saw few traffic lights, vehicles generally keeping to the correct side of the road, except for motor bikes, mopeds, tuktuks and smaller stuff that had a free rein to go in any direction. We didn’t see any road accidents. The hotel food overall was very good. To conclude, we would throughly recommend this holiday.
