A super friendly passionate guide - Jay’s food tour was an amazing way to experience Mumbai, as it covered multiple neighborhoods in both the northern suburbs and the central part of the city. The food selections included everything from typical Mumbai street food to South Indian, North Indian, and Parsi food, along with drinks like filter coffee and chai, all at established eateries then went back decades if not more than a century. Another highlight of the tour was using local transportation to get around including suburban trains, tuk-tuks, and cabs, and this was a great way to get a glimpse into the daily life of Mumbaikers. But the biggest highlight of the tour was Jay, a super friendly guide passionate about showing visitors his favorite spots in the city. He was particularly good at connecting with guests, and because of the slow pace of the tour, we got to chat about everything from his background to his travels, and most interestingly, about how he got started with doing tours in his city. At many places we went, the servers recognized him and were extremely friendly and hospitable, and it was obvious that meeting new people and making friends were important motivations for Jay in hosting his tours. Spending the day with Jay felt exactly like hanging out with a friend, and his tour made for an unforgettable experience.
