Excellent experience with Anthony and Theresa - In my tour today I not only learned how to make a delicious Indian meal, but I also learned so much about Indian culture and modern life from my tour guide Anthony. I went to Anthony’s home in a slum area and his Mum Theresa taught me how to make chapatis, daal, steamed rice, paneer korma and Indian rice pudding (Khmer). I was able to experience a few hours of typical Indian family life in a real Indian home - fascinating!

A must do in Mumbai - This was a highlight of our trip. Anthony welcomed us to his home where his family spent the afternoon cooking with us, eating together and giving us lots of information about the history of the area. We cooked a selection of vegetarian dishes and were given local sweets after also. Everything was easy to follow and we will definitely be making them when we return home.

Cooking course - Excellent morning spent learning Indian home cooking in the intimate surrounds of a family home. Entertaining company and a rare opportunity to get to know everyone. Strongly recommended.

Family Love and Food Mumbai Style - WOW! This excursion truly exceeded my expectations. Particularly because I did very little research after booking. We opted for the lunch excursion since we have a packed evening. The chauffeur picked us up early and we were whisked away on an hour long drive to the slums (apparently the same that are shown in Slumdog Millionaire). A short walk through the very densely built slum and then we were welcomed into a modest three story home. The hosts did everything to accommodate us and we started the cooking lesson right away. The lunch consisted of vegetarian dishes that our lovely chef described in detail. The owner of the company even showed up to give us more history about the slums and the people who lived there. We opted to participate in the tradition of eating on the floor but the hosts were more than happy to accommodate us with small tables and chairs if we needed them. The bottom line is - this is an awesome tour. I specifically wanted to stay away from anything that would exploit the slums and this not only showed me a different side of the slums but allowed me to see how much we share the importance of family, traditions, hard work and of course GOOD FOOD! Dhanyavaad!!!
