worthwhile jewish tour of mumbai - interesting tour and visited: 3 synagogues 1. keneseth eliyahoo synagogue 2. Magen David synagogue 3. Magen hassiddim synagogue 4. David Sassoon dock - oldest fishing dock of mumbai 5. David Sassoon library 6. Gateway of India and as raining we also went to the railway station guide was pleasant and picked us up on time from hotel. Tour was 3 hours. Tour price obviously excluded "donations" for each synagogue and remember to have passport for entry would recommend..the buildings are historical and interesting to view. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable and the driver was excellent

A scam of a tour ! Mystical tour company - We booked a week in advance with the Mystical Mumbai tour company for a private Jewish Heritage tour ! $120/- for 2. Tour of 4 hours. We the2nd of December the guide and driver met us and we informed them informed the guide we were not interested in any other filler sight but would like to spend more time at the 3 synagogues and Chabad house. also clarified about taking photographs and assured it was not a problem. First to Sassoon Docks. (( Did I say we only wanted to see the 3 synagogues and Chabad house ?!) No photographs allowed and the police threaten to confiscate cameras. We then go to Chabad House. We stand in the rain. Finally a woman comes out. says Chabad house is not open Has been shut since Covid19 lockdown started and is not going to open in the near future. We are annoyed as this is clearly the tour company's lack of research. At MEGAN ELIYAHOO SYNAGOGUE. The guide repeats what is written in Wikipedia. We are there just 15 minutes. At MAGEN DAVID SYNAGOGUE the caretaker guides us and say that Magen Hassidim Synagogue is closed for renovations ( Did the Tour company not do its groundwork? ) its now just 11.30. We are driven around till 1.30. I am incensed that the tour company took our money but showed us just 2 of the 4 Jewish religious sites. I wanted to speak to the manager and after repeated calls he spoke to me 2 days later. I wanted him to reimburse us for what was promised but not delivered. He said he cannot. That I should cooperate ! This is a scam.
