Nice one day trip near mumbai - Pradip Madgaonkar - I literally can not believe I grew up in Mumbai oblivious of this rich and extensive piece of history. Because it was extremely hot when we went, we did not visit all 109 caves. The ones we did cover were staggeringly beautiful and serene. The scale, complexity, practicality, and precision of the architecture are incredible for the time. I definitely intend to return and finish the rest. Naturally, on a relatively cool day.

Fantastic and Educational day out - Travelling as a solo female it was important that I felt safe so I booked online through GetYourGuide. I was also happy to find that the cost of going solo was only a third more - and not double like the other tour companies. I was picked up on time at my hotel by Mystical Mumbai driver and tour guide Anthony who drove me the hour to Sanjay Gandhi National Park. I was met by professional guide Prof Ganesh Vakale and caught the internal bus for the 7km ride to the cave entrance through beautiful lush forests. Prof Ganesh knew everything about Kanheri Caves and we spent an amazing few hours climbing stairs all over the site and learning the 2500 years of history. I really recommend using a professional guide like Ganesh to learn everything that you wouldn’t easily be able to learn on your own. He was Aldi happy to take as many photos and videos as I wanted - very accomodating and friendly. An experience not to be missed while staying in Mumbai. I also recommend going early in the morning as it gets quite hot. Finishing there and catching the bus back to the front gate I returned gratefully to the air conditioned vehicle and drove with Anthony and the driver to a ferry departure place to take a ferry to the Global Vipassanda Pagoda which was an incredible sight. I also had great fun catching the ferry loaded with families beautifully dressed up for Diwali. A really fantastic day out I am looking forward to booking more adventures through Mystical Mumbai tours while staying in Mumbai.

Interessing tour - We had a longer layover in Mumbai. Dev, our guide, made shure everything went smooth and definetely went the extra mile. Park did not allow any cars in that day, so he arranged some bikes. Dev had good knowledge about the caves and gave us some interessing insights. Highly recommended!

Buddhist history within Mumbai surrounds - Requires walking over uneven ground but well worth the effort. You get to see wildlife on the bus drive up and then walk up to view several of the 109 caves. Going early in the morning is a good idea.
