Cave monasteries - This is a great place to experience the forest that once covered this whole area, as well as to visit the caves and view the carvings made by Buddhist monks centuries ago.

Amazing day trip during long layover! - This trip was SO worth the cost!! We had a 20hr layover and Vikrant was SO accommodating for us. He picked us up from the airport, took to a great breakfast spot then we headed to the caves where we got amazing pictures (he's a great photographer) and had wonderfully detailed stories. He was helpful if we needed help hiking up and steep sides but it was very manageable for us three. Then we went for a local bus ride which was cool to experience local means of travel. Then we got into the Mumbai part of the tour where we explored so many spots, including a train ride to experience the most used mode of transportation in Mumbai. We had an amazing lunch stop and then we kept exploring. We got to see an amazing Hindu Temple and service and felt so welcomed. Our flight was really late (2am) so Vikrant helped us arrange to keep the car an extra 5 hours to explore more. We were exhausted after traveling for 2wks but he was very kind and helpful and made the extra excursions worth it!! It was wonderful and I'd highly highly recommend!! Note: I tried to upload pictures but the website wasn't working but it was amazing!

Caves visit in Mumbai - We had a great time with Vikrant. We visited Kanheri Caves with a very good explanation of the history and important points to know and we finish the Kanheri caves with an amazing point of view. We then went on to visit other caves in his car, all accompanied by a good lunch and tea as we like them here in India. It was a wonderful experience.

Nice hike in a national park with amazing Buddhist caves - Sameer, the guide, is a really nice guy to be around and knowledgeable about Indian culture and the park. He was responsive and it was easy to communicate via the cellphone app WhatsApp (available on Android and iPhone). The caves are amazing with lots of history and we even managed to find a peaceful place to enjoy nature by ourselves in the middle of the extremely busy/noisy Mumbai. Only hotels on the east side of Mumbai are eligible for no additional pick up fees despite the pick up locations shown by tripadvisor/viator. You'll also take public transport within the park for the 20-min drive from the entrance to the caves trailhead; no big deal as these are national park buses/vans. The trail has some moderate climbs and steps but several spots to take breaks with shade, including the caves which are 10-20 F cooler. We got picked up at 9am and were done by 12:30pm. We walked fairly quickly and were the only 2 people on the tour. We didn't do the Jogeshwari Caves (outside the national park) because it was a holiday and apparently those caves were closed.
