- Schloss Herrenchiemsee - Herrenchiemsee Palace is an almost exact replica of Versailles, the residence of the French king Louis XIV. who was very venerated by Ludwig. (Prices 2023 Herrenchiemsee palace: Adults € 11.00 / Children under 18 years are free!) … It takes 20 minutes to walk from the pier to the palace, or enjoy optional a horse-drawn carriage ride. GUARANTEED SKIP-THE-LINE TICKETS ARE ALREADY INCLUDED IN THE TOUR PRICE - EVEN AT SHORT NOTICE!
Neuschwanstein was dedicated to Ludwig’s favorite composer Richard Wagner; the neo-Romanesque façade is deceptive that the progress made enthusiastic king build it as a high-tech castle.

- Marienbrücke - Queen Mary’s bridge (“Marienbrücke”) - THE TOP VIEWPOINT - built in 1866 by King Ludwig II - one of the most famous in the world! It can be easily reached by a shuttle bus (€ 4.00 p.p.) from the parking lot or on a nice 40-minute uphill hike. From the bridge you’ll reach the castle entrance within a 20-minute walk downhill and pass one more magnificent viewpoint! PLEASE NOTE: Due to their popularity, there may be waiting times for both the shuttle bus and access to the bridge! But not far away we can show you another spectacular viewpoint without waiting. In snow and ice, the bridge is not accessible and Neuschwanstein Castle can only be reached on foot or by horse-drawn hybrid carriage.
- Stiftkirche Rottenbuch - Another unforgetable stop will be at one of the overwhelming baroque churches, e.g. the Stiftkirche Rottenbuch, where your guide will provide you with all the worth knowing information about this masterpiece from the 11th and 18th centuries.
- Starnberger See - A little later we reach the impressive Lake Starnberg, also known as the “Dukes lake”. Magnificent villas stretch along the lakeshore, including the summer residences of Sissi, the pretty but unfortunate Empress of Austria. See the spot in the lake where King Ludwig II mysteriously died on June 13, 1886. Learn about the strange relationship between Ludwig and Sissi, and why he didn’t want to marry Sissis younger sister. The only island of the lake (“Roseninsel”) which was in royal possession, too, was the meeting place of Ludwig and Sissi several times…

Including Fast-Track Entry to Neuschwanstein Castle!
With this exclusive and exceptional tour, you can conveniently explore the two most grandiose edifices of Bavaria’s fairy-tale monarch Ludwig II, all within a day.
This unique opportunity makes a dream come true for many, who can immerse themselves profoundly in NEUSCHWANSTEIN & HERRENCHIEMSEE through an organized trip led by a professional and affable tour guide. Providing unintrusive yet comprehensive historical and recent insights, he will also ensure your prompt arrival for the castle tours. Revel in this magnificence and discover why the king resided in both places only for a handful of days in his life.
Equally impressive as the historical structures is the diverse and captivating scenery that you’ll experience during our voyage in our cozy and modern Mercedes or VW-Minivan. Relish the 2 hour 15 minute journey from the towering Alpine peaks around Neuschwanstein to Bavaria’s largest lake, anticipating a mini-cruise to Herrenchiemsee Palace.
- Are you able to walk slightly uphill from the car park to Neuschwanstein castle - approx. 1,5 km/1mile in an hour’s time? If not, we have to calculate additional (waiting-) time for the horse carriage or the Shuttle bus (not operating during snow and ice) – Anyway, an approx. 500 meters/0.3 miles uphill walk (up to 15 % slope) or an approx. 800 meters/0.5 miles downhill walk (up to 19 % gradient) from the respective terminal to the entrance of the castle have to be managed in any case! We can assist you to make sure that you don’t miss your tour.
- In Neuschwanstein castle there are 346 stairs alltogether (up and down) to be managed. If this is too much for you, and if you have an appropriate medical certificate of disability or restriction of mobility or similar (must be scanned and posted to us in advance), we can try to book an exclusive lift service only for you with a maximum of one companion, accompanied by a castle-staff. The elevator service is without additional costs, but (because of fire regulations) the number of tours with that service is very limited and must be reconfirmed by the castle authorities.
- The (flat) walk to HERRENCHIEMSEE PALACE from the pier is approx. 20 minutes. Or use a horse carriage (not in winter season): One-way fare per adult (2022): € 4.00 (children 5-14 years: € 2.00)
- Each castle can be reached also with strollers, but they are not allowed during the tour of the interiors.
