Dacau tour - Our visit to Dachau was exceptional, thanks to our tour guide Jamie. He was respectful to the people and the place, knowledgeable, and answered our add-on, esoteric questions completely. He added extra information to each area to focus on a person that was there during the war, and explained what happened to them. We highly recommend the tour, and Jamie! Thank you!

Amazing Tour. Bravo. - Jamie, was an amazing guide. Our tour of Dachau stuck just the right balance when dealing with the challenging subject matter of genocide and human suffering. It was also great to learn other relevant things, like how it was compulsory for German students to visit a concentration camp.

Great tour with some... - Great tour with some local insight that you wouldn't necessarily get from google or a regular tour. Our guide, Jamie, was excellent!!

Dachau is a reminder of the horrors that mankind can inflict on the weak and oppressed - Hein provided a very thorough and detailed accounting of the tragic crimes against humanity committed by the Nazis. He was very well organized to help us get on the train no issue with our large group and the same thing with the buses out to Dachau and the same thing back. Overall an outstanding tour.

Well worth it - Jamie was wonderful! While we could have walked around ourselves and read the signs, Jamie summarized the important notes, and was respectful and knowledgeable. Would recommend!

Fantastic tour and fantastic tour guide, highly recommended. - This tour was fantastic, something everyone should try and do at least once in their lifetime. The meeting place seemed a little strange at first, but once we got there and met our tour guide, all of our concerns were resolved and it made perfect sense. Our tour guide James was absolutely fantastic, he really knew his stuff and how to get around. After getting back we talked about how crazy it would have been to try and get around on the train and bus to get there. There was no way we would have been able to do that without a guide.

One day somebody will say this never happened - Every intelligent soul in the Western world needs to see at least one concentration camp, and maybe Dachau is one of the easiest and least challenging. Come with an open mind, listen to the tour guide's summary history of the rise of the Nazis and the terrible conditions inflicted on the "prisoners", then go home with an altered world view. Not a pretty place to visit, no matter how much it has been cleansed for public viewing, but a necessary experience to broaden your perspective - unless you are a rabid Holocaust denier (in which case you won't be reading this anyway). The downside of the site is that it was demolished shortly after liberation, only the shower block and crematorium are near original, while only one of the barracks blocks has been reconstructed, with 3 stages of the evolution of the planned overcrowding demonstrated within one building. All very sanitized, and to get a real perspective the tourist has to go back to other sources to see photographs of what it was really like. Both the German photographs while it was occupied and the American photographs and movies when it was liberated.
