Fun and informative! - Fun and informative! Michael was an excellent tour guide. We really got to see a good portion of the city. Plus Michael gave us an excellent suggestion for a typical Bavarian lunch spot close to the city center. Two thumbs up!

A Wonderful Introduction to Munich and Its History - We took the walking tour as part of our first day in Munich, and it was a great way to get familiar with the Marienplatz and its surrounding streets. Danielle was our guide and she did a fantastic job telling us about the history of the city while we passed through such landmarks as the Frauenkirche and courtyards of the Munich Residenz. Among the fascinating topics she discussed were the period during the 19th and early 20th centuries when Bavaria was a kingdom and the extensive damage done to the city during World War II (and subsequent reconstruction). Danielle also pointed out some of Munich's quirkier aspects - monks on manholes! A makeshift shrine to Michael Jackson! - with a mix of knowledge and good humor. Our most surprising stop (aside from the MJ shrine, perhaps) was to watch people in wetsuits surfing in the not-very-wide Eisbach river. The tour ended in front of the world-famous glockenspiel, and the timing was such that we only had to wait about 15 minutes before the glockenspiel began its show. All in all, we really enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anybody interested in learning about Munich's history.

A nice stroll through Munich - Noel was super informative and answered all of our questions. He was very personable as he led us around the city telling us about the history of Munich and current cultural norms. I recommend doing this walking tour your first day in the city if it's you're first time. Its a great way to get your bearings and learn something new. He also had great recomendations for things to see/do/eat. You can tell he loves his job and the walk was very leisurely.

Great historic guide to Munich - Claudia was an excellent tour guide. She was easy to find in the Marienplatz. We saw all the major sites in central Munich, including the Glockenspiel, the Frauenkirch, English gardens, the Residenz, Chancellery, Hofbrauhaus, and Viktualienmarket. Each site was described with stories of history about how that place came to be and what common folklore surrounds it. This is a great activity for people interested in history who are able to walk around for over 2 hours without the need to sit. Easily worth the $25.
