Private Munich tour - Our guide Jeff was very well versed in the history of the city. He had pictures that depicted the total destruction making the comparison to the present come alive. He took us to the Rathaus-Glockenspiel at the precise time to observe the mechanics in motion and accompanied with the lore behind it. Placed suggested for lunch was very good and authentic.

Scripted Uncustomized Political History Tour - B-O-R-I-N-G. At least that’s what my 10yo had to say about our 3 hour tour with Grigory. I loved that Coty unscripted sent a questionnaire to help hone in on creating the perfect tour. We selected religious history, food markets, sweets, off the beaten path sites, outdoor markets for shopping, scenic and portrait photography and possibly a few other things. I don’t know where the lines got crossed but we got none of those and instead got a 3 hour political history tour with a couple of neat stops thrown in. I specifically hadn’t asked for political history because my daughter hasn’t studied WWII in school yet and while I would have been ok with him touching on it, it needed explanation. Many times he would point to something and start to describe it and I would have to interrupt him, look at my daughter and say, “do you know what that (ie the Third Reich) is, she would say no, and he would keep going as if he was reading from a script. In fact, at many of the stops, he did read a list of facts and numbers from a notebook. If it’s not interesting enough for a tour guide to remember, it’s probably not going to excite a 10yo either. I just felt like they completely missed the mark on this and failed to deliver in every category. Family- no way, definitely geared towards adults Custom- nope, all preferences were ignored Unscripted- HA. He literally read from a script. For our short time in Munich there was so much more we could have done in 4 hours that would have been more entertaining and educational for our mother/daughter trip.
