Additional Information

We start in our modern busses and reach the green landscapes from Bavarian state with the majestic Alps.

The idyllic emerald green Lake Königssee is located in southeastern from the state Bavaria, in South of Germany. It lies at the foot of the famous Mount Watzmann in the heart of the Berchtesgaden Alpine National Park.

In the relaxing crossing by electric boat to the idyllic island of St. Bartholomew, you will not only hear the impressive echo but you will also learn interesting facts about the mountain lake itself. The trip provides time for you to hike and enjoy the beautiful landscape as well.

In the evening, just some minutes away from the lake, we visit the Berchtesgaden salt mine. It is in continuous operation since 1517. Dressed like in the old times of mining gear, you begin the exciting tour through the salt mountain by riding in on the mine train. To the highlights we count the miners’ slides, a raft ride across the subterranean “Mirror Lake,” and the Salt Cathedral.

Beautiful Konigssee - Konigssee is very beautiful especially with good weather and very few visitors. Berchtesgaden Saltmine is a worth place to visit and it is interesting to know how the saltmine works. It is incredible that the saltmine is very deep. The guide is good in keeping enough time to visit the places.

Breathtaking scenery and knowledgeable guide - We took 2 trips with Gray Line during our stay in Munich. On both occasions our guide Monica was knowledgeable and attentive. Our first trip was along the Romantic Road to Harburg and Rothenburg. Both places were interesting and picturesque and we enjoyed the day. The second trip, to Konigsee and the salt mines at Berchtesgaden, was even better. The scenery along the journey and around the lake has to be seen to be believed and was the highlight of our holiday. Many thanks for making our trip so smooth and memorable and a huge thank you to Monica for making the trips so relaxed and informative.

Lovely tourguide lovely day - Enjoyed this trip immensely. As we are not people to spend hours we enjoy these whistle-stop tours and the background information supplied. Have never been let down by a Grays line tour. The salt mines were great

Rude tour guide & tight schedule ruined our experience - The rude and impatient tour guide ruined our experience totally despite having good weather. We felt that she is Racist towards Asians as she treated us hostilely and we could see the difference in preferential treatment between us Asians and the other white tourists on board. She basically shouted at us twice unnecessarily in the trip. First time was when she disappeared very long to buy tickets and did not bother to tell us where the toilet was after we arrived at our destination. When we came out from the toilet, she shouted at us and blamed us for not going in when she did not informed us when she will be back. The second time she screamed at us unnecessarily was when we turned up more than 5 mins earlier before 1:30pm. She gave us the boat tickets at 1:15pm and told us to meet at 1:30pm at the dock.we had only less than 15 mins to go buy and eat out lunch and we rushed like mad, had to purposely choose the shop with the shortest queue just to buy our lunch, and even when we arrived more than 5 mins before the destinated timing, she still shouted at us as though we were 30 mins late. Contradictingly, when other white tourist turned up late in the morning for the tour, she never scolded them and still waited for them happily and the whole tour group had to leave later. She as a tour guide was also late for the tour, Which is really unprofessional. When she told us the history of the place, she literally had to read out from a script, like she knew nothing. The instructions given by her was also unclear and she kept on changing what she said. The whole tour was super rushed and no allowance for us to even buy and have a proper and we were screamed at for buying out lunch. My sister even had to skip lunch due to the hectic areangement. She totally ruined our day after screaming at us twice

Tour cancelled without giving a reason - They cancelled the tour the day before without saying why. Ruined our plans. Poorly organized and abysmal communication.
