Fantastic! - We had an amazing time, our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. I highly recommend this. As tourists in Germany for the first time, we could have tried to get out to these castles by ourselves, but we would have missed out on so much. This tour is absolutely the way to go!

Excellent tour- would definitely recommend - The whole tour was brilliant, and kept to time. Our drive Tony, was lovely and kind, and Christine provided excellent commentary on the way there, with lots of points of interest. Plenty of time at each palace too- it was a long day but very worth it.

Beautiful castles and scenery - Wow! Christine did a great job covering the history of King Ludwig. She gaves us the tip to go to the bridge first so we could get that iconic photo of the castle.

Amazing day! - My son and I loved everything about this day trip. The guide, Cansel, was wonderfully knowledgeable and engaging. The bus was comfortable, with cold drinks for sale on board. We spent just the right amount of time at each site and really enjoyed the restaurants / kiosks / souvenir shops. Absolutely beautiful scenery along the route. And the price was right!

Great, punctual tour(s)! - Great day trip - it will take the entire day due to its distance from Munich. Everything was very well organized and we left by 9:02am for a 9am tour - so don’t be late! We were also back by 7:30, which I appreciate as other tours on Viator/tripadvisor can at times be over an hour longer than expected. I didn’t get her name, but we loved the guide/organizer (70 year old woman who zips about like a 25 year old making sure no one is left behind and we get to the spots on time. Again - get there early, especially if you want to sit on the bus with anyone you come with.

Read this before you buy! - This tour offers a convenient way to visit some remarkable sites, but there are a few important things to consider before booking. Primarily, it's more of a transportation service than a comprehensive guided experience. Here's what you need to know: 1. **Pace and Timing** - The first stop is quite rushed. You'll arrive around 10:45 AM but won't have immediate access to restrooms or shops until the guide has purchased the tickets. After tickets are distributed, you'll start the tour around 11:10 or 11:15 AM, which lasts approximately 40 minutes. You're expected to be back on the bus by 12:00 PM, leaving very little time for anything else. The walk back to the bus is longer than anticipated, so it would be beneficial if the tour included an additional 30 minutes here. Also, pre-purchasing tickets could streamline this process significantly. 2. **Entrance Fees** - Entrance fees to the castles are not included in the tour price and must be paid in cash on the bus shortly after departure. Although this is mentioned on the website, it's crucial to have the exact amount ready: €33 per adult, plus an additional €3 at Neuschwanstein for the bus to the bridge. 3. **Oberammergau Drive-By** - On the way to the next location, the bus passes through Oberammergau at a leisurely pace. The town is picturesque, with a rich history, but there's no opportunity to stop and explore. The highlight of the town is the "three fairy tale houses," which we initially thought referred to the architecture but turned out to be just the fairy tales painted on the buildings. 4. **Neuschwanstein Castle** - At Neuschwanstein, tickets are handed out on the bus before you disembark. Be prepared for a strenuous hike up to the castle, with a steadily increasing altitude. Inside, you'll climb numerous spiral staircases to access around eight rooms. While the interiors are impressive, your enjoyment might depend on the weather-whether you're after stunning views or a sense of history. 5. **Practical Considerations** - The hike to Neuschwanstein can be challenging, especially in bad weather. The path is often littered with horse manure, and when it rains, this turns into rivers of manure. Consider wearing old hiking boots or shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.
