  • Alpine Coaster - Are you ready for a spectacular but 100% safe adrenaline-kick? A chairlift takes you in the picturesque alpine mountain scenery to a cozy mountain restaurant and to the start of the adventurous ALPINE COASTER at 1,270 m (4.170 ft) altitude: With the 1st world’s longest weatherproof toboggan run with magnetic brakes, you can reach the valley at a length of 2,600 meters (1,6 miles) with breathtaking views and adventurous curves. You set the pace! (A safety mechanism intervenes reliably at too high speeds automatically. Due to the magnetic brakes, operation is also possible in the rain, but not in thunderstorms.)
    Prices (2024): Adults: € 16.50/Children 6-15 years: € 12.00
  • Oberammergau - Due to the corona crisis, the world-famous Oberammergau Passion Play had to be postponed by 2 years for the first time since the 2nd World War. Since 1680, this major event, which goes back to a vow from 1633, has always taken place at the full decade.

We are happy to show you the world’s largest Passion Play theatre and its spectacular “convertible stage” on a guided tour of the town and will also be happy to explain the enchanting murals (“Lüftlmalereien”) to you.

Take the time to go shopping - numerous shops offer souvenirs in a wide and non-expensive range, including the famous Oberammergau wood carvings.

  • Pilgrimage Church of Wies - The world’s most beautiful rococo church is this 18th-century sacred building at the foot of the Ammergau Alps. Why such a jewel was built in the middle of agricultural meadows, you will gladly find out, among many other details, from your guide.

Please note: We reserve the right to show you a similarly magnificent late Baroque church instead of the Wieskirche.

  • Schloss Neuschwanstein - NEUSCHWANSTEIN castle - dream destination for innumerable travelers from all over the world! No building in Germany is visited more often than Ludwigs most famous fairytale castle, whose construction was begun in 1869.

It was dedicated to Ludwig’s favorite composer Richard Wagner; the neo-Romanesque façade is deceptive that the progress made enthusiastic king build it as a high-tech castle. *

During the 35-minute castle tour, you will be shown all the King’s completed living quarters. On the subsequent 15-minute walk to the exit, you will pass through one of the unfinished floors, after which you will see the unusually modern kitchen of the castle and the planned bathroom. You will be well informed about the special features of these rooms by your guide before the castle tour. *

Due to the corona crisis, the guided tours in the castle have been significantly reduced - the demand far exceeds the supply. As a participant of our excursion, however, you will always receive SKIP-THE-LINE tickets for the castle visit.

  • Queen Mary’s Bridge (Marienbrucke) - Mary’s bridge - THE TOP VIEWPOINT - (built in 1866 by King Ludwig II) and one of the most famous in the world! It can be easily reached by a shuttle bus (€ 3.00 p.p.) from the parking lot or on a nice 40-minute uphill hike. From the bridge you’ll reach the castle entrance within a 20-minute walk downhill and pass one more magnificent viewpoint! PLEASE NOTE: Due to its popularity, there may be waiting times for both the shuttle bus and access to the bridge! But not far from Mary’s bridge you can reach another spectacular viewpoint - without waiting!
  • Starnberger See - A highlight of both landscape and history is the second largest lake in Bavaria, the ‘Starnberger See’, which was rightly once called the “Lake of the Dukes”.

On the shores there are countless villas and mansions from bygone times.

Even today, the city of Starnberg has the highest millionaire density in Germany.

Marvel at the magnificent summer residences of Sissi, the enchanting and unhappy Empress Elisabeth of Austria.

After a short walk to the beach you will see the tiny ‘Roseninsel’ (Rose Island). It is the only island in the lake and was royally owned until the 20th century.

Furthermore, we show you on the opposite shore the place where Ludwig II died mysteriously on 13 June 1886.

  • Schloss Linderhof - (OPTIONAL, only with option “XXL-Time Credit”): LINDERHOF palace in the idyllic Graswang Valley, in the middle of the Ammergau Alps, was the favorite palace of King Ludwig II. Following the French model, it was the only one of the three “fairy tale castles” to be completed. During the 30-minute guided tour, let yourself be overwhelmed by the unique and lavish interior design in French Baroque style and by the world-famous “Little Table-set-yourself” (Tischlein-deck-dich)! * Admission (2024): adults € 10.00 (children under 18 free admission)
  • Plansee - (OPTIONAL, only with option “XXL-Time Credit”): Let yourself be overwhelmed by this scenically unique ride through Austria along the crystal clear plan lake framed by Tyrolean and Bavarian mountain peaks. A section of the route leads through Austrian territory, so please remember to have valid identity documents. PLEASE NOTE: In case of unfavorable traffic conditions, we drive a similarly attractive route on the Bavarian side.
  • Ettal Abbey - (OPTIONAL, only with option “XXL-Time Credit”): Founded only in the 14th century, Ettal Monastery is one of the highlights of this tour due to its Gothic-Baroque church with its monumental dome.

The Benedictine monks there not only run a High school, but also brew the delicious Ettal beer, which can be enjoyed on site together with specialties from Bavarian cuisine in one of the numerous inns.

  • Upper Bavaria - Between the sights and during the trips to and from your hotel, you will enjoy the journey in our luxurious Minivans with panoramic glass roof, full leather upholstery, all conceivable safety precautions and exciting information from your friendly and professional tour guide.

A fantastic day-trip for the whole family - What an excellent day exploring the Bavarian countryside! We were unfortunate to have it rain in the morning, but our tour guide, Karl, was fantastic in shifting things around so that we could do everything we wanted. We were traveling with 9 and 11 year old kids and their top priority was the Alpine Slide, which we didn’t want to do in the pouring rain. The Neuschwanstein Castle tickets were unfortunately pre-booked with a timed entry, so we had to make a choice, skip going into Neuschwanstein and do the Alpine Coaster in the afternoon or skip the coaster and go inside Neuschwanstein. We chose skipping the interior of Neuschwanstein, but we got to see the outside of it. Instead, we got to see the interior of another King Ludwig castle, Linderhoff and that was pretty amazing. It is super ornate! In addition to the castle and the slide, Karl took us to a nearby monastery and a nice restaurant on a lake in Austria for lunch. It was a fantastic day enjoyed by our whole multigenerational family (ages 9-76)!

Highlight of our trip - Host provided a lot of background and history, and paused a few times along the way to show us some sights that were not outlined on the tour. It was the perfect balance of having a guide while also having time to explore on our own.

Fantastic!! - This was an amazing tour! Stefan is a wonderful guide. He is very knowledgeable and our day was planned to perfection! I highly recommend booking this tour. Our two teenagers (14, 16) loved the castles (Neuschwanstein & Linderhof) as well as the alpine coaster. This was truly a highlight of our vacation.

The Alpine Coaster is a must! - We did several tours while in Europe, and this one was top of our list! We happen to be in Munich during a heatwave which made some parts tough, but overall it was a great day! Oberammergau was the cutest town, we wish would’ve allowed ourselves more time there. The Alpine Coaster was amazing! The views on your way up were gorgeous and the ride down was so fun! Some tips for the coaster… let your faster drivers go first, put the more cautious in the back and I wish we would’ve done it twice! The surrounding areas are beautiful, the drive was great, and our driver was filled with so much knowledge! We learned a lot! Thank you for the memories!!

Fantastic day out in Bavaria with the kids - Our guide was Christian and he was punctual, thoughtful and informative. We had a great day and our children had the best time - saying it was the highlight of our 2 week trip. Oberammergau village on the way to the castle was absolutely enchanting. Although we had bad weather in the morning, knowing that our children had their hearts set on the alpine coaster - Christian quickly checked the weather forecast and suggested that we return to the alpine coaster after the castle tour when the weather conditions improved. By the afternoon when we arrived at Neuschwanstein castle, the weather was perfect and the castle was beautiful. We ended our wonderful day with the alpine coaster (in good weather!) - and our children were over the moon. Christian also gave us some great tips on where to visit around Munich and good Bavarian restaurants. Thank you Christian!

Fantastic time with Sightseeing Bavaria! - We had a fantastic day with Sightseeing Bavaria Exclusive! It started out with a prompt hotel pickup by our guide, Thomas, in a clean comfortable car. It was a clear sunny day (apparently this is not typical for this time of year) and the drive was stunningly beautiful. We headed out to the Alpine Coaster. Unfortunately, there was an accident on the way that caused quite a bit of traffic but that ended up working out to our favor because, once the accident cleared, there was hardly a line at the alpine coaster! We had so much fun on our first alpine coaster ride and our guide was a good sport when my sister took the tracks down pretty slowly. He was even kind enough to drop us off to go get in line while he looked for parking. Next, we headed out to Neuschwanstein Castle. Again, our guide dropped us off at the bus stop while he looked for parking and ran up the hill to meet us at the Castle. He took great photos of us on the bridge in front of Neuschwanstein Castle and then escorted us to the meeting point for the Castle tours. He waited outside while we took the tour and then brought us back to the car. On our way back to Munich, we stopped twice at the Pilgrimage Church of Wie, a beautifully well-preserved church, and a gorgeous lake right at sunset. We had a great day with Thomas and highly recommend Sightseeing Bavaria! It was great to have a private guide so we could move at our own pace and we had great conversations throughout the day with Thomas, which allowed us to get a better understanding of Bavarian culture. I will happily use Sightseeing Bavaria the next time I am in the area and recommend you do too!

Fun Times in Bavaria - Knowledgeable tour guide, super flexible and accommodating. Gave great insight and seem-less coordination for our tour connections. The alpine slide was amazing, we would have gone more than once except it was a little chilly on our day. Well worth the price!
