If I return with friends I will encourage this tour - Our guide Stephan dazzled us with his immense knowledge of Nymphenburg Palace, the historical/political knowledge surrounding the palace, Munich and Germany…my granddaughter and I were “Wowed!!”

A Nice Distraction from Darker Munich History - This private tour was a nice respite for us. As you know, much of the history around Munich is quite dark and focused on the Nazis and WWII. After a couple of days of learning more about that dark history, touring this palace with Hanna was quite a treat. Nymphenberg served as the summer palace for the Bavarian Royal family. It’s a gorgeous palace inside and out. There are some rather unique items here, including a room full of original portraits of the loveliest ladies in Munich at the time, commissioned by the king himself. The grounds are simply amazing, featuring large gardens, green spaces and a hunting lodge. Take the time to tour the carriage museum. You will be stunned at the opulence and attention to detail. We felt the private tour was worth the extra expense because of the special attention and the expertise Hanna delivered. They offer two eateries on site, a small coffee shop and a nice restaurant as well. Note that photos are allowed on the grounds but not inside the place.
